A data processing method comprises creating and storing a dependency graph representing at least one derived dataset and one or more raw datasets or intermediate derived datasets on which the at least one derived dataset depends; reading configuration data specifying one or more periods for one or more datasets in the dependency graph; detecting a first update to a first dataset; initiating a first build of a first intermediate derived dataset only when a then-current time is within a first period of the one or more periods or a previous build of the first intermediate derived dataset occurred earlier than a then-current time less a second period of the one or more periods; asynchronously detecting a second update to a second dataset; initiating, in response to the second update, a second build of a second intermediate derived dataset that depends on the second dataset.

Continuous builds of derived datasets in response to other dataset updates

An improved vertical lift door roller assembly has a wheel pivotally mounted to a shaft. The shaft is placed within a spring loaded locking cylinder. The locking cylinder is movable between a first position where it restricts pivoting of the wheel and a second position where the wheel is able to pivot. The door roller assembly is mountable to a support a vertical lift door, such as a bracket or a hinge. The roller wheel can be pivoted to decouple the roller from a vertical lift door wheel track and to reseat the wheel in the track.

An underwater light fixture and a method for making the underwater light fixture are provided. The method includes assembling a light fixture in a housing, leaving a fastener out of the light fixture, wherein an opening for the fastener fluidically couples to open volume in the housing. The housing is placed in a vacuum chamber, and a vacuum is pulled on the vacuum chamber to remove air from the open volume of the housing. A dry gas is introduced into the vacuum chamber to fill the open volume in the housing, and the fastener is installed in the light fixture to seal the open volume.

An improved vertical lift door roller assembly has a wheel pivotally mounted to a shaft. The shaft is placed within a spring loaded locking cylinder. The locking cylinder is movable between a first position where it restricts pivoting of the wheel and a second position where the wheel is able to pivot. When the door roller assembly is used on a vertical lift door, the wheel can be pivoted to decouple the roller from a vertical lift door J channel wheel track.

Techniques for automatically scheduling builds of derived datasets in a distributed database system that supports pipelined data transformations are described herein. In an embodiment, a data processing method comprises obtaining a definition of at least one derived dataset of a data pipeline, and in response to the obtaining: creating and storing a dependency graph in memory, the dependency graph representing the at least one derived dataset and one or more raw datasets or intermediate derived datasets on which the at least one derived dataset depends; detecting a first update to a first dataset from among the one or more raw datasets or intermediate derived datasets on which the at least one derived dataset depends, and in response to the first update: based on the dependency graph, initiating a first build of a first intermediate derived dataset that depends on the first dataset; initiating a second build that uses the first intermediate derived dataset and that is next in order in the data pipeline according to the dependency graph; asynchronously detecting a second update to a second dataset from among the one or more raw datasets or intermediate derived datasets on which the at least one derived dataset depends, and in response to the second update: based on the dependency graph, initiating a third build of a second intermediate derived dataset that depends on the second dataset; wherein the method is performed using one or more processors.

Systems and methods for aggregating and storing different types of data, and generating interactive user interfaces for analyzing the stored data. In some embodiments, entity data is received for a plurality of entities from one or more data sources, and used to determine attribute values for the entities for one or more given time periods. The plurality of entities may be categorized into one or more entity groups, and aggregate attribute values may be generated based upon the entity groups. A first interactive user interface is generated displaying the one or more entity groups in association with the aggregated attribute values associated with the entity group. In response to a received indication of a user selection of an entity group, a second interactive user interface is generated displaying the one or more entities associated with the selected entity group, each entity displayed in association with the attribute values associated with the entity.

A mounting system and method secure a power distribution unit within a substrate at sites where access behind the substrate is unavailable to a worker effecting the installation. The power distribution unit is coupled to a trim plate for displacement relative to the trim plate when the trim plate is engaged with an obverse surface of the substrate. Displacement of the power distribution unit relative to the trim plate from a first position into a second position beyond the obverse surface, and then release of the power distribution unit for return toward the first position, in response to a biasing force, enables a retention member to lock the power distribution unit in place within the substrate. Selective removal of the power distribution unit from the substrate is accomplished by lifting the trim plate from the obverse surface of the substrate to effect release of the retention member from the power distribution unit, thereby releasing the power distribution unit from the substrate.

Mounting a power distribution unit within a mounting substrate

In a furniture supported power control arrangement and method, power is controlled selectively from one of two furniture locations in the arrangement. A three-way circuit is comprised of low-voltage wiring connecting a first double-throw electric switch carried at a first furniture location for selective manual actuation, and a second double-throw electric switch carried at a second furniture location for selective manual actuation. A low-voltage driver supplies low-voltage power to the three-way circuit, and a low-voltage room lighting system is connected to the three-way circuit, whereby low-voltage power is directed to or disconnected from the room lighting system as controlled selectively by actuation of either one of the first and second double-throw electric switches.

Furniture supported power control

A retrofit device and method adapt an existing, conventional lighting fixture for resisting bio-fouling of a primary window of the lighting fixture when submerged and exposed to biological organisms within a surrounding environment. The primary window is isolated from the surrounding environment by an auxiliary window member, and ultraviolet radiation is directed to the outer surface of the auxiliary window member from a source within the retrofit device, enabling transmission of ultraviolet radiation to the outer surface of the auxiliary window member of an intensity limited to essentially that which is effective in rendering the outer surface of the auxiliary window member immune to permanent adherence of biological organisms to which that outer surface is exposed when submerged, thereby allowing illumination from a source behind the primary window to be projected effectively through the auxiliary window member into the surrounding environment.

Anti-biofouling of submerged lighting fixtures

A lighting fixture and method resist bio-fouling of the outer surface of a window of the lighting fixture when submerged and exposed to biological organisms within a surrounding environment. Ultraviolet radiation is directed to the outer surface of the window from a source inserted within the window, enabling transmission of ultraviolet radiation to the outer surface of the window of an intensity limited to essentially that which is effective in rendering the outer surface immune to adherence of biological organisms to which the outer surface of the window is exposed when submerged, and thereby allowing light from a source behind the window to be projected effectively through the window and into the surrounding environment.

A lighting fixture and method resist bio-fouling of a window of the lighting fixture when submerged and exposed to biological organisms within a surrounding environment. Ultraviolet radiation is directed to the window from a source within the fixture, enabling transmission of the ultraviolet radiation through the window to an outer surface of the window to combat biological organisms to which the outer surface of the window is exposed when submerged, and allowing light from a source behind the window to be projected effectively through the window and into the surrounding environment.

A method and a mirror selectively magnify an image reflected by a discrete portion of a reflective area of the mirror while an image reflected by the remainder of the reflective area outside the discrete portion remains unchanged. A light-transmitting area is placed within the reflective area, outside of and adjacent to the discrete portion, and a light source is located for directing light through the light-transmitting area to illuminate a space adjacent to and confronting at least the discrete portion of the reflective area.

A lighted multiple panel display unit capable of providing a variety of visual effects has layered panels made of light transmitting materials. At least two of the layered panels are spaced apart such that there is a gap between them. Each of the panels comprising a relief. Multiple light sources illuminate at least a portion of the relief of each panel, the light sources being actuated in a predetermined sequence such that the reliefs produce a visual effect. Visual effects which may be produced include a color blending effect, a three-dimensional appearance effect, a morphing effect and a color fading effect.
