A safety braking device for a machine tool for braking a processing tool driven by an electric motor via an output unit, more particularly an output shaft, includes at least one braking device which is provided to halt rotation of the output unit in a braking process. The braking device has at least a first braking stage and a second braking stage. The disclosure further relates to a machine tool having the safety braking device and to a method for operating a safety braking device.

Safety braking device with two braking stages

A safety brake device for braking a machining tool includes at least one brake device configured as an at least two-part claw clutch. The claw clutch includes a first claw-clutch part, and a second claw-clutch part. The first claw-clutch part is arranged on the output shaft so as to allow no relative rotation, the second claw-clutch part is configured to allow no relative rotation with respect to the power tool, each claw-clutch part has a respective plurality of toothing elements, the respective plurality of toothing elements are configured to engage with one another during a braking operation to stop rotation of the output shaft, and a maximum angular spacing Δmax of mutually adjacent toothing elements of at least one of the first plurality of toothing elements an the second plurality of toothing elements is determined depending on a maximum rotational speed of the output shaft.

Safety brake device

In a method for identifying a deflection or a breakdown of a machine tool, in particular a hand-held machine tool, with an oscillating output movement, in particular a linearly oscillating output movement, at least one physical characteristic of the machine tool, in particular of a motor, a powertrain component, and/or a machining tool of the machine tool, is detected continuously or periodically by means of a detection unit. The method further includes detecting a deflection or a breakdown of the machine tool with an analysis unit on the basis of at least two values, which are identified at different times, of the characteristic of the machine tool, wherein each of the at least two values of the characteristic are associated with at least one respective substantially identical value of a discrete position characteristic of the oscillating output movement, in particular the linearly oscillating output movement, of the machine tool.

A hand-held power tool, in particular a saber saw, having at least one holding unit for fastening the hand-held power tool to a holding device, in particular to an arresting cable and/or carabiner clip. The holding unit includes at least one receiving opening for receiving the holding device, and at least one damping element for damping a force transferred from the holding device to the hand-held power tool, in particular to a housing of the hand-held power tool. The damping element includes an at least substantially elastic element that at least partially encloses the receiving opening and receives in a form-fitting manner a fastening part delimiting the receiving opening.

A safety brake device for a power tool includes a decoupling device, configured to decouple an output unit from a drive unit during a braking operation thereby reducing at least one of a rotational mass and rotational energy of the output unit, and a brake device with a first brake device part and a second brake device part. The first brake device part is arranged on the output unit so as to allow essentially no relative rotation, and the second brake device part is configured to allow essentially no relative rotation with respect to the power tool. The first brake device part and the second brake device part are configured to interact mechanically with one another during a braking operation to stop rotation of the output unit. The first brake device part of the brake device is embodied in one piece with the decoupling device.
