A removable control panel console for a cooking appliance may include a front panel having upper fingers that hook onto apertures in a bullnose feature of the appliance. The control panel console is pivotable in this configuration, and may be secured to the appliance by raising the front panel to fully insert the fingers into the apertures and fastening a bottom wall of the control panel to the appliance. Side walls of the control panel console may include tabs that are received into corresponding slots in a front surface of the appliance, providing an additional alignment and security feature.

A domestic appliance has a width in a horizontal direction and a height in a vertical direction. The appliance includes a main housing; and a first door attached to the main housing. The first door has a rear portion, the rear portion being positionally fixed in the horizontal direction relative to the housing, a door retainer attachable to the rear portion such that the door retainer is locatable at a plurality of different positions relative to the rear portion, and a door skin, the door skin being removably attached to the door retainer.

A cooking appliance having a broiler may include a housing defining an upper compartment above the broiler and a rear compartment behind the broiler. A gas mixing pipe extends through the upper compartment to the rear compartment via an opening in an interior wall of the housing. A cover is removably coupled to an outer surface of the interior wall, such that opposing U-shaped slots of the two cover portions collectively form an aperture that conforms to an outer periphery of the gas mixing pipe. Accordingly, the cover blocks one or more gaps in the interior wall, such that the cover is configured to prevent gases from passing into the rear compartment through the gaps.

Techniques are provided for constructing an adjustable kick panel assembly that is removable, adjustable, and attachable without the use of a tool. In one or more implementations, a bracket having a clip is inserted into a slot on a kick panel, and then twisted to secure the bracket to the kick panel. The bracket allows for height adjustment of the kick panel without a tool. The complete kick panel assembly is then attached to the base of an appliance by inserting the clip into a housing on the base.

A precision router guide for guiding a router in the formation of grooves, slots, steps or other cutaway sections of various widths in a work piece. The precision router guide includes a rectilinear guide member with an integral clamping assembly for securing the guide member to a work piece, and an adjustable template assembly adapted to be slidingly coupled to the guide member. The adjustable template assembly is configured to receive a router base, and has provision for the router bit to extend through an opening into engagement with the work piece. The adjustable template assembly also includes two adjustable guide elements and one fixed and one adjustable stop designed to allow adjustable movement between the router base and the template assembly in a direction perpendicular to the guide member, the amount of such movement being determined by the desired width of the cut. Adjustable pointers are provided on the template assembly to enable the groove, slot, step or other cutaway section to be precisely located on the work piece.

Precision router guide method and apparatus

A precision router guide is described which is specifically configured for cutting or routing out slots of different widths in panels, boards or the like. The precision router guide includes a plurality of frame members pivotally joined together near their respective extremities to form a parallelogram wherein two of the frame members are longer in length than the other pair of oppositely disposed frame members and have straight edges and are disposed in edge-to-edge facing parallel relationship, securing means for securing one of the frame members to the workpiece thereby placing the frame member in relatively fixed relationship thereto, gauge means adapted to operably set a specific reference displacement between the longer of the frame members whereby the distance between the respective gauge means establishes the precise width of the routers cutting swath on the workpiece, locking means for locking at least one of the pivoting joints of the parallelogram following the use of the gauge means whereby the distance between the two longer in length frame members remains fixed while the router's base plate is operably disposed in intimate guiding relationship between the pair of fixed frame members so that the router's cutter is precisely positioned to cut the slot desired in the workpiece.
