A control system for a conveyor system of a machine includes a motor to drive the conveyor system, and a pump operably coupled to the motor. A solenoid actuator actuates the pump. The control system includes operator interfaces to enable an operator to provide inputs indicative of a desired engine speed, and a desired conveyor speed. The control system includes a controller which determines a pump speed based on the desired engine speed, and determines a maximum possible motor speed based on the pump speed and a maximum possible gear ratio between the pump and the motor. The controller determines a desired motor speed based on the desired conveyor speed. The controller determines a solenoid actuation current based on the desired motor speed and the maximum possible motor speed, and supplies the solenoid actuation current to the solenoid actuator to control a speed of the conveyor system.

System and method to control a conveyor system

A fault detection system for a machine having a plurality of electrical conducting elements insulated from a frame ground of the machine is disclosed. The fault detection system may include a high voltage DC power source, a positive high voltage bus connected to a positive terminal of the high voltage DC power source and providing high voltage electrical power to the plurality of electrical conducting elements, and a negative high voltage bus connected to a negative terminal of the high voltage DC power source and returning high voltage electrical power from the plurality of electrical conducting elements. At least one of the positive and negative high voltage buses may be selectively connected through a plurality of switches to plural zones of the electrical conducting elements, with each of the plural zones being electrically connected in parallel, and selectively connected to the high voltage DC power source by one of the plurality of switches. A low voltage DC power source may be configured to form part of a leakage current detector selectively connected through each of the plurality of switches to each of the plural zones for detecting leakage current between an electrical conducting element and the frame ground.

A paving machine including an adjustable screed assembly is provided. Actuators adjust the screed assembly into the plurality of different configurations. Sensors sense a respective configuration parameter indicative of the configuration of the screed assembly. A controller is configured to save a first set of parameters including the configuration parameters and save a second set of parameters including the configuration parameters in response. The controller is configured to recall one of the first set or second set of parameters, and adjust automatically the configuration of the screed assembly to correspond to the configuration parameters included in the recalled first set or second set of parameters.

A control system for an extendable screed includes a first input device configured to set a speed limit for the extendable screed, a second input device configured to vary a speed of the extendable screed within the speed limit. The controller further includes, a third input device configured to govern a relationship between a speed of the extendable screed and a relative position of the second input device. The control system further includes a controller configured to receive inputs from the first, the second, and the third input devices and output a command signal to move the extendable screed relative to the main screed.

A screed system is provided. The screed system includes a base screed. The screed system includes an extension member, wherein the extension member is detachably coupled to the base screed. The screed system also includes an identification module associated with the extension member. The identification module is configured to provide an indication of the extension member. The screed system further includes a controller, wherein the controller is configured to determine a parameter associated with the extension member based on the indication. Further, the identification module and the controller are configured to communicate with each other.
