In a device for coupling a cartridge for a lab-on-a-chip analysis device, the cartridge has at least one pneumatic port and at least one reagent chamber. The device has a receiving region and a clamping unit. The receiving region is shaped to receive the cartridge. The clamping unit includes a pneumatic interface for pneumatically contacting the pneumatic port and a punch for insertion into the reagent chamber. The clamping unit is arranged adjacent to the receiving region and is designed to perform a first translatory motion toward the receiving region in order to bring the pneumatic interface into contact with the pneumatic port. Furthermore, the clamping unit is designed to perform a second translatory motion toward the receiving region following the first translatory motion in order to insert the punch into the reagent chamber.

A microfluidic device for processing a liquid in ludci includes at least one pneumatic substrate with a pneumatic cavity and a fluidic substrate with a fluidic cavity for accommodating the liquid. The fluidic cavity is arranged opposite the pneumatic cavity. In addition, the microfluidic device has a flexible membrane which is arranged between the pneumatic substrate and the fluidic substrate. The flexible membrane is designed to fluidically separate, from one another, a fluidic chamber extending at least in part in the fluidic cavity and a pneumatic chamber extending at least in part in the pneumatic cavity. The microfluidic device further includes a first pneumatic channel for applying a first pneumatic pressure to the pneumatic chamber and a second pneumatic channel for applying a second pneumatic pressure to the pneumatic chamber.

A microfluidic device includes a chamber substrate, a cover substrate, a flexible membrane, and a punch unit. The chamber substrate includes a fluid chamber configured to receive a fluid and having a fluid chamber opening. The cover substrate includes a punch opening lying opposite the fluid chamber opening. The flexible membrane is positioned between the chamber substrate and the cover substrate, and spans the punch opening and the fluid chamber opening. The punch unit is configured to move into the fluid chamber through the punch opening in order to deflect the flexible membrane into the fluid chamber so as to enable the fluid to flow out of the fluid chamber when fluid is received in the fluid chamber.

A film bag for a microfluidic analysis system includes a film bag bottom, a film bag opening arranged opposite the film bag bottom, and a peel seam arranged between the film bag bottom and the film bag opening. The peel seam is formed to produce a closed reagent receiving region between the peel seam and the film bag bottom and a tube between the peel seam and the film bag opening. The reagent receiving region has a reagent receiving length extending between the peel seam and the film bag bottom. The tube has a tube length extending between the peel seam and the film bag opening. The tube length is at least five percent of the reagent receiving length.

A device for receiving and fluidically contacting a container for fluid, in particular a microfluidic device, includes a receiving unit configured to receive the container. The receiving unit includes at least one first hollow needle extending toward the received container, and at least one fixing element configured (i) to fix the received container at a predetermined distance from the needle, and (ii) such that the container is released in response to a force exceeding a predetermined threshold acting either (a) on the container in the direction of the needle, or (b) on the receiving unit in a direction toward the container. Release of the container enables the container and receiving unit to undergo a predetermined movement relative to each other such that the needle penetrates a shell of the container to fluidically contact the container.

An apparatus, in particular a microfluid apparatus, includes a chamber for extracting a fluid. The chamber has a wall with an opening. The opening is sealed by a sealing mechanism that is impermeable to specified substances. The apparatus further includes a membrane that contacts the outside of the wall, in a region of an outside of the wall which adjoins the opening, and covers the opening.

A unit for making available a fluid for a biochemical analysis device includes a lid element and a bottom element with a bottom recess lying opposite the lid element. A film is arranged between the lid element and the bottom element. A fluid bag with a force introduction surface for introducing a force into the fluid bag is folded and/or arranged in the bottom recess such that, without pressure acting on the film, the force introduction surface and a main plane of the film are oriented in different directions. The film is pressed against the force introduction surface when pressure acts on the film in the direction of the bottom recess to thereby introduce the force into the fluid bag. The fluid bag has at least one closure seam that opens when the force is introduced.

A film bag for storing a fluid, in particular a reagent or an auxiliary agent for a biochemical analysis method, includes a film, a seam, and an irreversibly destructible predetermined breaking point. The film is impermeable to the fluid and constituents of the fluid. The seam is formed in a fluid-tight manner between a first sub-region of the film and a second sub-region of the film and forms the film into a fluid-tight bag for accommodating the fluid. The bag is configured to be arranged in a chamber of a device that provides a fluid for a biochemical evaluating unit. The predetermined breaking point is formed from the film and is fluid-tight when a fluid pressure in the film bag is below a limit. The predetermined breaking point is destroyed when the fluid pressure is above the limit.

Film bag for storing a fluid and device for providing a fluid

A normally closed valve for microfluidic components includes a polymer substrate and a polymer membrane film arranged on the polymer substrate. The polymer substrate has a first chamber, a second chamber, and a fluidic barrier element configured to separate the first chamber from the second chamber. The first chamber is fluidically coupled to the second chamber by the polymer membrane film, and, in an initial configuration, a connection of the polymer membrane film to the fluidic barrier element prevents a fluidic communication of the first chamber to the second chamber. The first chamber is at least partially filled with a substance in the initial configuration, and a transfer of the substance from the first chamber into the second chamber takes place by applying a pressure to the substance. The pressure is chosen to be great enough to disconnect the connection of the polymer membrane film to the fluidic barrier element.
