In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for generating an augmented reality environment. An application executing on a computing device may receive a real-time video feed. The application may present the real-time video feed on a display of the computing device. The application may identify an image on a physical token from the real-time video feed. The application may select an animation from a set of one or more animations based on the identified image. The application may add the animation to the real-time video feed at an animation position above the physical token. The application may present the real-time video feed with the added animation.

Systems and methods for augmented reality environments and tokens

The systems and methods discussed herein further provide for electronic simulation of sports-based card and board games with greater realism than conventional simulations of card and board games, with an intuitive user interface less complicated than user interfaces provided with electronic simulations of sports games. The simulation may be local to a computing device, or may utilize multiple computing devices in communication. Resources associated with a user of one computing device may be not associated with the user of another computing device, representing ownership of game tokens or entities. Resources associated with the user and resources not associated with the user may be stored separately in local databases, reducing bandwidth required for transfer of unassociated resources during multi-user simulations.

Sports-based card game systems and methods

The present invention relates to a nanowire sensor and method for forming the same. More specifically, the nanowire sensor comprises at least one nanowire formed on a substrate, with a sensor receptor disposed on a surface of the nanowire, thereby forming a receptor-coated nanowire. The nanowire sensor can be arranged as a sensor sub-unit comprising a plurality of homogeneously receptor-coated nanowires. A plurality of sensor subunits can be formed to collectively comprise a nanowire sensor array. Each sensor subunit in the nanowire sensor array can be formed to sense a different stimulus, allowing a user to sense a plurality of stimuli. Additionally, each sensor subunit can be formed to sense the same stimuli through different aspects of the stimulus. The sensor array is fabricated through a variety of techniques, such as by creating nanopores on a substrate and electrodepositing nanowires within the nanopores.

Nanowire sensor, sensor array, and method for making the same

A nanofeature particulate trap comprising a plurality of densely packed nanofeatures, such as nanotubes, and a particulate detector incorporating the nanofeature particulate trap are provided. A method of producing a nanotrap structure alone or integrated with a particulate detector is also provided.

Nanocarpets for trapping particulates, bacteria and spores

A tunable nanomechanical oscillator device and system is provided. The nanomechanical oscillator device comprising at least one nanoresonator, such as a suspended nanotube, designed such that injecting charge density into the tube (e.g. by applying a capacitively-cuopled voltage bias) changes the resonant frequency of the nanotube, and where exposing the resonator to an RF bias induces oscillitory movement in the suspended portion of the nanotube, forming a nanoscale resonator, as well as a force sensor when operated in an inverse mode. A method of producing an oriented nanoscale resonator structure with integrated electrodes is also provided.

Pattern-aligned carbon nanotube growth and tunable resonator apparatus

A device for utilizing an optical infrared emitter/detector to sense substances of interest is provided. The infrared emitter/detector comprises a single crystal semiconductor, photonic band gap structure which functions both as an infrared emitter, a narrow-band filter, and as a broad-band infrared bolometer detector to exert wavelength control directly on the active element emitter/detector surface using the periodic symmetry of the photonic band gap structure to produce narrow wavelength &ldquo;forbidden&rdquo; optical transmission bands or modes to sense the presence of a specified substance in the environment. A system and method for sensing specific substances using the optical infrared emitter/detector of this invention in a sensor device is also provided. Finally, a method of manufacturing the infrared emitter/detectors of the present invention is also provided.

Micromachined tuned-band hot bolometer emitter

A device for utilizing a non-gel self-assembled nano-feature array molecular sieve for analyzing molecules is provided. The molecular sieve device comprises an ordered array of self-assembled nano-features which function as a molecular sieve to separate molecules based on a suitable characteristic. A system for integrating the non-gel ordered self-assembled nano-feature array molecular sieve of this invention into a device for separating molecules based on a characteristic and a method for separating a wide range of molecules using the non-gel ordered self-assembled nano-feature array molecular sieve of the invention are also provided.
