The invention relates to pliers for clamping plates used in conjunction with a manipulator arm, comprising a rigid frame connected to a carrier such as a rigid stand or robot, and an articulation sub-assembly connected to the frame and comprising a fixed arm, a mobile arm, and a main actuator for displacing the mobile arm in translation or rotation relative to the fixed arm for closing or opening the pliers and respectively clamping the plate assembly between the arms or releasing said assembly, wherein said pliers belong to a family of pliers comprising C- and X-shaped pliers, the frame having a similar shape and appearance for all the pliers of said family. Application mainly in the family of C- and X-shaped resistance-welding pliers having similar and preferably identical frames.

A gripper is disclosed. The gripper has a frame which is connected to a mobile subassembly including a fixed end and a mobile end respectively secured to a fixed arm and a mobile arm, and an actuator supported on the fixed arm for moving the mobile arm and end relative to the fixed arm and end, along a first degree of freedom, in translation or rotation, and a balancing module introducing an additional degree of freedom, in translation or rotation, which is offset outwards of the assembly formed by the mobile subassembly and the frame.

The invention concerns an actuator ( ) comprising a pre-stroke rod ( ) which can be fixed to the tool body, for example soldering pliers. Thus by pressurising the pre-stroke chamber ( ) the working rod ( ) for closing the pliers can be brought into an intermediate small opening position, the working piston ( ) and the amplifying pistons ( and ) remaining retracted in the actuator. Since the rod ( ) can then be locked relative to the actuator body ( ), pressurisation of the working chamber ( ) and the amplifying chambers ( and ) will then cause the working rod to be extracted ( ) and the soldering pliers to be closed without any recoil from the actuator body.
