A wireless device () and a method for enabling access to a radio network node () as well as a radio network node () and a method for enabling the wireless device () to enable access to the radio network node () are disclosed. The wireless device () supports a first transmission bandwidth. The radio network node () operates a carrier on a second transmission bandwidth. The first transmission bandwidth is narrower than the second transmission band width. The wireless device () obtains () information about the carrier. The wireless device () determines () a mapping scheme for mapping a set of enumerable elements, e.g. resource blocks or sequence elements, to frequency ranges based on the information about the carrier.

Network nodes and methods for enabling access to a radio network node

Radio communication systems, devices and methods for enabling variable subband configuration of one or more search spaces. In a first time interval, a UE attempts to decode one or more control channels on downlink or sidelink resources of a first sub band configuration. In a second time interval, the UE attempts to decode one or more control channels on downlink or sidelink resources of a second sub band configuration. The first subband configuration spans a first frequency range and the second subband configuration spans a second frequency range different from the first frequency range.

Variable subband configuration of search space

There are provided mechanisms for monitoring search spaces. A first method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving an Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol in a downlink slot. At least part of the OFDM symbol is included in a device-specific search space and in a common search space. The first method comprises monitoring the device-specific search space for at least one device-specific reference signal (RS) and monitoring the common search space for at least one non-device-specific RS. In a second method, a radio access network node transmits an OFDM symbol included in a device-specific search space and in a common search space. The device-specific search space contains a device-specific RS, or the non-device specific search space contains a non-device-specific RS, or both of these apply.

Search space monitoring

Limited uplink bandwidth radio network devices are supported on wide bandwidth uplink carriers by configuring and controlling the use of multiple control regions within the uplink carrier bandwidth. In some embodiments, the total bandwidth of the uplink carrier is divided into a plurality of sub-band portions, wherein each sub-band portion includes at least one control region nominally dedicated to the transmission of uplink control signaling. Radio network devices are configured with a specified portion of the uplink carrier bandwidth for use for uplink transmission, which includes at least one control region. Radio network devices may be provisioned or provided with information regarding control regions reserved for control signaling by other radio network devices. The radio network devices may be dynamically configured to allow or suppress uplink data signaling in specified control regions, or portions thereof.

Selective suppression of uplink transmission in control regions

A method of operating a user equipment, UE, that is served by a radio access network, RAN, includes determining an uplink duty cycle for uplink transmission by the UE to the RAN, and selecting a peak uplink power level in response to the determined uplink duty cycle. A method of operating a UE according to some embodiments that communicates with a RAN via a plurality of component carriers includes determining an aggregate uplink duty cycle based on scheduled uplink time intervals across the plurality of component carriers, and selecting a peak uplink transmission power level for transmitting uplink signals on the plurality of component carriers in response to the determined aggregate uplink duty cycle. Variable duty cycle for power control

The scheduling flexibility of CSI reference signals enables time and frequency synchronization using multiple non-zero CSI-RSs transmitted in the same subframe, or using CSI-RSs transmitted in the same subframe with other synchronization signals. Also, multiple synchronization signals may be scheduled in the same subframe to enable fine time and frequency synchronization without cell-specific reference signals.

Time and frequency synchronization

Systems and methods are provided for allocation of acknowledgement resources. In an embodiment, a method of transmitting control information to a communication network may be implemented in a wireless device. The method may include being configured with at least two physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) opportunities, each of the at least two PUCCH opportunities identifying uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to the communication network. The method may further include receiving an acknowledgement resource indication (ARI) indicating one of the configured at least two PUCCH opportunities to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission.

Allocation of acknowledgement resources

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a scheduling node for scheduling an uplink transmission from a wireless device to the scheduling node, which wireless device is connected to a Primary Cell, Pcell, of the scheduling node in a licensed or unlicensed frequency band, and wherein the wireless device is also connected to at least one Secondary Cell, SCell, in an unlicensed frequency band. The scheduling node determines at least one Listen Before Talk, LBT, parameter associated with an LBT procedure and informs the wireless device about the determined at least one LBT parameter in a scheduling grant of the uplink transmission.

Channel access configuration

There is disclosed a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network, the user equipment being configured with a transmission resource pool. The transmission resource pool includes resources for transmission of response control signaling by the user equipment. The method includes transmitting response control signaling utilising a resource structure, the resource structure being selected from the transmission resource pool based on a signaling characteristic of characterising signaling, the resource structure further being selected based on selection control information included in a received selection control message. The disclosure also pertains to related devices and methods.

Resource selection for control signaling in radio access network

A user equipment is configured with at least two collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information to a communication network. The UE receives an assignment of radio resources to be used for receiving a downlink transmission from a base station of the communication network. The UE receives an acknowledgement resource indication, ARI, indicating one of the configured collections of uplink resources to be used for transmitting control information associated with the DL transmission. Further, the UE transmits the control information to the base station on at least a subset of the indicated collection of UL resources. In example embodiments, the indicated collection of uplink resources comprises a plurality of selectable uplink resource sets. The control information is transmitted on one of the uplink resource sets which corresponds to an operational state of the communication network.

Persistent indication of acknowledgement resources

There is disclosed a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network. The method includes transmitting acknowledgement signaling based on a feedback configuration, the feedback configuration being selected from a set of configured acknowledgement configurations. Acknowledgement signaling processes for radio access networks

There is disclosed a method of operating a feedback radio node in a radio access network, the feedback radio node being configured with a set of feedback codebooks. Each codebook of the set indicates an arrangement of one or more subpatterns of feedback bits into feedback information. The method includes transmitting feedback signaling representing feedback information determined based on a codebook selected from the set of feedback codebooks. Acknowledgement signaling for radio access networks

There is disclosed a method of operating a user equipment in a radio access network, the method including communicating based on a control information message received while operating on a first bandwidth part; wherein the control information message represents a bit pattern; wherein the bit pattern is interpreted differently depending on whether the control information message indicates switch to operating on a second bandwidth part or not. Resource mapping based on bandwidth part

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) configured to operate in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include receiving, from a radio node in the RAN, a new feedback indicator (NFI) that indicates whether acknowledgement signaling previously scheduled for transmission by the UE was received by the radio node. The acknowledgement signaling is associated with one or more first downlink (DL) hybrid ARQ (HARQ) processes. Such methods include, when the NFI indicates the acknowledgement signaling was not received by the RAN node, selecting a first HARQ codebook to be used for encoding the acknowledgement signaling together with further acknowledgement signaling associated with one or more second DL HARQ processes. Such methods include, using the selected first HARQ codebook, encoding the acknowledgement signaling and the further acknowledgement signaling to obtain first encoded information and transmitting the first encoded information to the radio node via an uplink (UL) channel.

According to some embodiments, a method in a network node comprises: determining that uplink control information, UCI, and a data payload will be sent via a physical uplink shared channel on a slot/subslot transmission; determining a modulation coding scheme, MCS, offset for transmission of the UCI via the physical uplink shared channel; and communicating the MCS offset to a wireless device. According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device comprises: determining that UCI and a data payload will be sent via a physical uplink shared channel on a slot/subslot transmission; receiving a MCS offset for transmission of the UCI via the physical uplink shared channel; and communicating, to a network node, the UCI using the MCS offset. The UCI and the data payload may be sent via the physical uplink shared channel with a slot/subslot transmission or a short transmission time interval (sTTI).
