A variety of methods and systems are disclosed, including, in one embodiment, a method including introducing fuel and oxygen into a solid oxide fuel cell to generate electric current, a fuel cell oxygen effluent, and a fuel cell exhaust; combusting combustion fuel and an oxygen source in the presence of a working fluid to generate heat and a combustion exhaust, wherein the working fluid comprises carbon dioxide; heating the solid oxide fuel cell with the heat generated by combustion; generating additional electric current from the combustion exhaust with at least one turbine; separating the combustion exhaust to form a carbon dioxide enriched stream and a water enriched stream; and recycling at least a portion of the carbon dioxide enriched stream as the working fluid.

Enhancing efficiencies of oxy-combustion power cycles

Disclosed is an ethylene and/or propylene cracker unit that uses recycled carbon dioxide as a working fluid. A boiler may also use recycled carbon dioxide as a working fluid. In either instance, instead of releasing high-purity COinto the atmosphere, the bulk of the COis utilized as the working fluid and the produced COis captured and sent to the pipeline for utilization or storage. These systems will minimize heat loss and achieve essentially zero COemission to the air.

Oxy-fuel cracking furnaces and boilers using CO2 as the working fluid

A medication dispensing system is provided and includes a medicine transfer device (MTD) and a controller. The MTD transfers medicine between first and second containers. The first container initially stores medicine. The controller: determines a first predetermined amount of medicine to be dispensed from the medicine dispensing system; causes the MTD to discharge a second predetermined amount of the medicine from the first container onto the MTD, and transfer a third predetermined amount of the medicine from the MTD to the second container; subsequent to the transfer of the third predetermined amount, determine whether the second container has greater than or equal to the first predetermined amount; and if the second container has less than the first predetermined amount, cause the MTD to transfer a portion of the medicine on the MTD into the second container or discharge a portion of the medicine in the first container onto the MTD.

Dispenser system and methods for medication compliance

A vehicle occupant safety system includes temperature, ambient, and interior monitoring modules. The temperature monitoring module includes at least one temperature sensor. The temperature monitoring module is configured to detect temperatures in zones within an interior of a vehicle. The ambient temperature sensor is configured to detect an ambient temperature within the interior of the vehicle. The interior monitoring module is configured to: based on the detected temperatures of the zones, determine for the zones at least one of a temperature gradient over time or a temperature gradient over space; determine if the ambient temperature is outside a predetermined range; and in response to the ambient temperature being outside the predetermined range and based on the at least one of a temperature gradient over time or a temperature gradient over space, detecting an occupant in the vehicle and performing a countermeasure to prevent an injury to the occupant.

Occupant safety systems to respond to current conditions and prevent injuries of animate objects

Systems and methods are provided to detect and issue warning signal when an occupant(s) inside a dangerous vehicle. An exemplary system and method may include operations and/or instructions comprising measuring temperature at multiple zones; calculating temperature gradients versus time and space; calculating distances among temperatures and among temperature gradients; analyzing temperatures, temperature gradients, distances and their histories to detecting an occupant(s) inside a vehicle; and giving out warning alarms when an occupant(s) inside the vehicle.

System and method to avoid heatstroke in vehicles

Systems and methods are provided for dispensing medication in a predetermined amount. An exemplary system and method may include operations and/or instructions comprising dispensing medicine from a first medicine container to a transfer device; dispensing medicine from the transfer device to a second medicine container, monitoring a medicine distribution relative to the first medicine container, the second medicine container, and the transfer device by way of at least one monitoring device, and automatically adjusting the medicine distribution among the first medicine container, the second medicine container, and the transfer device.

An optical lens drill press outfitted with specialized lens holding and displacement platform assemblies that allow the user to manipulate the angle and hold lenses in position, whereby selected areas pre-designated for the fabrication of apertures can be produced at precision angles and sizes typically perpendicular to the curvature lens of the lens.

Optical lens drill press

A clip-on lens for selectively covering a lens of a pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglasses include first and second transparent lenses. Each lens includes at least two holes extending therethrough. Also included is a first and second extension arm, a nose bridge and a plurality of ferromagnetic studs. Each stud extends through a respective hole in the first and second lens for connecting the first lens between the first arm and the nose bridge and the second arm and the nose bridge. The clip-on lens includes at least two holes extending therethrough which are substantially aligned with the holes in a respective one of the transparent first and second lenses. Magnets are positioned within the at least two holes in the clip-on lens. Upon positioning the clip on lens against a respective one of the first and second transparent lenses, a magnetic coupling is formed between the magnets and respective ferromagnetic studs thereby selectively holding the respective one of the first and second transparent lenses. The clip-on lenses have a size and shape substantially similar to a size and shape of said first and second transparent lenses. Additionally, the clip-on lenses cone in various tints.
