Techniques and architecture are disclosed for a method for making a custom circuit comprising forming a common wafer template, selecting at least two elements of the common wafer template to be chosen elements, and adding at least one metal layer to interconnect the chosen elements to form a circuit. The common wafer template includes a plurality of transistors, a plurality of resistors, a plurality of capacitors, and a plurality of bond pads. Final circuit customization of the common wafer template is accomplished by adding at least one metal layer that forms interconnects to passive and active elements in the template in order to complete the circuit.

Flexible impedance network system

An RF power amplifier includes an input coupler including a first resistor and a first capacitor, an input phase difference network of the input coupler including a first input direct current (DC) bias injection network and a second capacitor connected in series with the first resistor. The second capacitor increases a bandwidth of the RF power amplifier. The RF power amplifier may further include a first power amplifier and a second power amplifier. The first input DC bias injection network provides power to the first power amplifier and the second power amplifier. The RF power amplifier includes a lateral dimension narrower than a lateral dimension of an RF power amplifier comprising bias circuitry on two opposing sides.

RF power amplifier

A device may include a housing, a wireless transceiver carried by the housing, and an antenna element carried by the housing and having first and second feeds, and a split antenna feed network carried by the housing and providing a phase shift between the first and second feeds. The split antenna feed network may include a first capacitor having a first terminal coupled to the first feed and a second terminal coupled to the wireless transceiver, a second capacitor having a first terminal coupled to the second feed and a second terminal, a first inductor having a first terminal coupled to the second terminal of the first capacitor and a second terminal coupled to the second terminal of the second capacitor, and a second inductor having a first terminal coupled to the second terminal of the second capacitor and a second terminal coupled to a voltage reference.

Mobile wireless communications device with split antenna feed network and related methods

A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a communication device including a matching network for impedance tuning and pairs of antennas that can be utilized as primary and diversity antennas, respectively, and can provide high radiation efficiency. An RF switch can be utilized for re-configuring the primary and diversity antennas. Other embodiments are disclosed.

High radiation efficiency antenna systems

A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a plurality of variable capacitors, a first set of resistors for applying a bias voltage to each variable capacitor of the plurality of capacitors, and a second set of resistors for providing a DC ground to each variable capacitor of the plurality of capacitors. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium having computer instructions to perform actual measurements of one or more performance parameters of a communication device according to a subset of tuning states of a tunable matching network operable in a communication device, determine estimated measurements of the one or more performance parameters of the communication device for a portion of the tuning states not included in the subset of tuning states according to the actual measurements, identify a data set for each of the one or more performance parameters from at least portions of the tuning states and the actual and estimated measurements, and determine from at least a portion of the date sets one or more tuning states that achieve at least one desirable performance characteristic of the communication device. Method and apparatus for calibrating a communication device

An embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus, comprising a wireless handset and an antenna tuner within the wireless handset that is adapted to preset its impedance to the transmit/receive circuitry in the handset.
