A method for the fabrication of a coated sheet is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a sheet in a deposition chamber, maintaining the deposition chamber at a pressure P, maintaining an ejection chamber that is located inside the deposition chamber at a pressure Pand coating the sheet with zinc with a sonic vapor jet. A ratio of the pressures Pto Pis between 2·10and 5.5·10.

A coated metallic substrate including at least a first coating of aluminum, such first coating having a thickness below 5 &#x3bc;m and being directly topped by a second coating including from 0.5 to 5.9% by weight of magnesium, the balance being zinc.

Coated metallic substrate

A steel sheet is provided with a coating having at least one layer of zinc and a top layer of paint applied by cataphoresis. The zinc layer is deposited by a jet vapor deposition process in a deposition chamber maintained at a pressure between 6&#xb7;10mbar and 2&#xb7;10mbar. A fabrication method and an installation are also provided.

A method for fabricating a substrate provided with a plurality of layers, includes: providing a steel substrate with an oxide layer including metal oxides on the steel substrate; providing a metal coating layer directly on the oxide layer, the metal coating layer including: at least 8% by weight nickel; at least 10% by weight chromium; and a remainder being iron and impurities from a fabrication process; and providing an anti-corrosion coating layer directly on the metal coating layer.

Fabrication method for a multi-layer substrate

A coated metallic substrate is provided, including, at least; one layer of oxides, such layer being directly topped by an intermediate coating layer comprising Fe, Ni, Cr and Ti wherein the amount of Ti is above or equal to 5 wt. % and wherein the following equation is satisfied: 8 wt. %&#x3c;Cr+Ti&#x3c;40 wt. %, the balance being Fe and Ni, such intermediate coating layer being directly topped by a coating layer being an anticorrosion metallic coating.

The present invention provides an aqueous treatment solution containing sulfate ions SOin a concentration greater than or equal to 0.01 mol/l, to treat sheet metal including a steel substrate coated on at least one face with a coating including at least zinc and magnesium to reduce blackening or tarnishing of the sheet metal during storage. Multi-layer substrate

The present invention provides a metal sheet including a steel substrate coated on at least one face with a coating including from 0.1 to 20% by weight of magnesium, optionally from 0.1 to 20% by weight of aluminum, the balance being zinc, potential impurities linked to the method and optionally one or more additional elements selected from among Si, Sb, Pb, Ti, Ca, Mn, Sn, La, Ce, Cr, Ni, Zr and Bi, the content by weight of each additional element being less than 0.3%. The coating itself is covered by a layer, based on zinc hydroxychloride, having a chlorine coating weight of at least 1 mg/m. The layer does not include hydrozincite or mixed hydroxycarbonates of zinc and aluminum or water-soluble compounds of sodium or potassium. The present invention also provides a method to obtain the metal sheet.

Metal sheet treatment method for reducing blackening or tarnishing during the storage thereof and metal sheet treated with this method

A steel sheet is provided with a coating having at least one layer of zinc and a top layer of paint applied by cataphoresis. The zinc layer is deposited by a jet vapor deposition process in a deposition chamber maintained at a pressure between 6&#xb7;10mbar and 2&#xb7;10mbar. A fabrication method is also provided.

A steel sheet is provided. The steel sheet includes a multilayer coating including at least one zinc-based layer being 0.1% to 20% magnesium by weight which is covered by a fine temporary protective layer of 5 to 100 nm. The fine temporary protective layer is composed of metal or metal oxide selected from the group consisting of aluminum, chromium, aluminum oxides AlOx, with x being strictly between 0.01 and 1.5 and chromium oxides CrOy, with y being strictly between 0.01 and 1.5. The at least one zinc-based layer is not alloyed with the temporary protective layer. Manufacturing methods for a sheet and part are also provided.

Steel sheet including a multilayer coating and methods

An apparatus is provided that performs continuous cleaning of a surface of a grounded material which is coated with an organic substance. The apparatus includes a plurality of electrodes covered with a dielectric and disposed along the surface of the material. The electrodes are connected to a high-voltage generator using a MOS power transistor connected to a step up transformer to convert low-voltage pulses generated from a low-voltage power supply into high-voltage pulses. The apparatus is configured to provide a pulsed electric field wherein the maximum voltage of the positive pulses Uis greater than the arc-striking voltage U, and the maximum absolute value of the voltage of the negative pulses Uis less than the striking voltage U.

Method of cleaning the surface of a material coated with an organic substance and generator and device for carrying out said method

A coating process for coating at least one side of a running substrate, by vacuum evaporation, with a layer of a sublimable metal or metal alloy, in which said metal or metal alloy is positioned so as to face said side of the substrate in the form of at least two ingots placed in contact with one another, that surface of said ingots facing said side of the substrate being kept parallel to the substrate and at a constant distance from the latter during coating, and also to a coating plant for implementing the process and to a feeder for supply.

The invention relates to a process for coating a substrate (S) whereby a metal alloy layer comprising at least two metallic elements is continuously deposited on the substrate (S) by means of a vacuum deposition facility () comprising a vapor jet coater () for spraying the substrate (S) with a vapor containing the metallic elements in a constant and predetermined relative content, the vapor being sprayed at a sonic velocity. The process is more particularly intended for depositing Zn&#x2014;Mg coatings.
