An aqueous dispersion along with methods for producing and uses for the same. Where the aqueous dispersion includes crosslinkable reactive silicone organic copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and of ethylenically functionalized silicone polymers and is obtainable by means of radically initiated miniemulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium.

Proppant particles coated with a resin system containing a reactive resin and an organopolysiloxane having at least three successive siloxy units and at least one pendent or terminal group which contains at least four atoms selected from C, N, P, O, and S, exhibit higher degrees of coating and decreased fracture and release of fines at high pressure, thus enhancing fracking performance.

Modified reactive resin compositions and use thereof for coating propping agents

Coated proppants useful in fracking operations in oil and gas production are coated with a novolac resin containing a linear or cyclic organopolysiloxane of specific composition. The coatings are more fracture resistant, thus producing less fines during use, resulting in longer production campaigns.

Proppants coated with a cured reactive resin composition containing 92-99.5 wt. % of a reactive resin and 0.5 to 8 wt. % of a silicone resin containing at least 5 wt. % of alkoxy groups and at least 20 mol percent of T and/or Q units, in liquid form, exhibit high freedom from fines generation, and are free flowing.

Organopolysiloxanes bearing regularly spaced pendent carboxylic acid groups or salts thereof have a block polymer structure and are derived by the double half-esterification of a dianhydride and a silanol- or carbinol-functional organopolysiloxane or sulfur analog thereof. The products can form stable aqueous dispersions without the need for a surfactant.

Organopolysiloxanes having a greater degree of defined reactivity through epoxy, isocyanate, anhydride, amino, carboxy, and (meth)acrylate groups are prepared by cohydrolytic condensation of reactive group-containing precursors and other condensable precursors in amounts such that the reactive organopolysiloxanes product contains on average more than two reactive groups, less than 20% by weight of alkoxy groups, and a proportion of non-reactive optionally substituted hydrocarbon groups such that the ratio of non-reactive hydrocarbon groups to Si atoms is greater than 1.

Alkoxy group-containing silicones with reactive functional groups of defined reactivity

Aqueous emulsions of epoxy- and organo-substituted, branched organopolysiloxanes are prepared by emulsifying the latter in water with the aid of a dispersing agent. The emulsions are storage stable and are useful in multi-component coating, adhesive, and binder systems.
