A window mounted support platform for an electrical generator. The support platform is securable to a window frame and provides a movable platform that can be orientated on the interior side of the window frame for ease of accessing a generator secured to the platform. The movable platform can further be moved to a position external the window frame where the generator can operate without introducing fumes inside the window frame. The generator is secured to the top of the platform. The support platform employs a runner extending from a bracket configured for placement on the inside of a window frame, allowing movement of the shelf platform from an internal orientation to an external orientation. Doors are used to isolate the generator from the interior living space. An electrical cord can be routed through a sealing mechanism in the doors.

One example provides a power quality improvement system for an electrical power distribution system including a parameter measurement module to measure a power factor of the electrical power distribution system, a number of capacitor steps selectively connectable to the electrical power distribution system, and a number of harmonic filters connected to the electrical power distribution system, wherein a number and size of each capacitor step and a type of the harmonic filters are based on a load profile of the electrical power distribution system. A controller monitors a status of the harmonic filters and automatically connects or disconnects selected capacitor steps from the electrical power distribution to maintain the measured power factor at a set-point power factor, where a delay before connecting or disconnecting each selected capacitor step is based on a load stability factor of the electrical power distribution system, the load stability factor based on the load profile.

A method of assembling a rolling element intermediate shaft assembly includes providing a solid shaft, a tubular shaft, and a wear plate. The solid shaft includes first and second ends. A tubular shaft includes an inner wall with an axially extending groove formed therein. The groove includes an inner surface. The wear plate includes a bottom surface that defines an axially extending channel. The wear plate is orientated in the groove of the tubular shaft with a gap defined by the wear plate and the groove of the tubular shaft. The solid shaft is then inserted into the tubular shaft. At least one ball bearing is inserted within the channel between the wear plate and the solid shaft.

The gearbox assembly includes a worm configured to be operably coupled to the motor assembly, and a worm gear meshingly engaged with the worm. The worm gear is configured to be operably coupled to the leg support, and the worm and the worm gear are configured to transfer rotary motion from the motor assembly to the leg support upon initiation of a force applied to the leg support.

The aperture has a non-circular first cross-sectional profile, and the solid shaft first portion is positioned within the aperture and is deformed such that the first portion is formed with a second cross-sectional profile complementary to the first cross-sectional profile to axially and torsionally couple the solid shaft to the yoke.

The retainer cap includes a body having a first end, a second end, an outer surface, and an inner surface defining an internal cavity to receive the tubular shaft, an axial end surface disposed at the first end and defining a first opening to receive the solid shaft, and a second opening defined in the body second end to receive the tubular shaft after insertion through the first opening. The retainer cap further includes a first tab extending from the axial end surface into the internal cavity, and a second tab extending from the axial end surface into the internal cavity.

A system and method of arranging a solar cell and reflector to replace a typical solar cell oriented normal to the incoming sunlight inside a module (i.e. parallel to a module's transparent cover plate or opening). The present invention in a preferred embodiment uses a solar cell oriented at a 45 degree angle to the incoming sunlight, and a reflective surface oriented perpendicular to the cell and at a 45 degree angle to the incoming sunlight. The solar cell and the mirror are the same length/size and form a V shape where the angle between the sloped sides is 90 degrees. Any light falling normally on the arrangement will hit the solar cell either directly or after reflection. In another embodiment, two adjacent reflectors can be used making angles of around 60 degrees and around 30 degrees with respect to the cover or opening. An alternate embodiment can include a second reflector added to the base of the cell and reflector pairings also at an approximate 45 degree angle with the cover or opening. The second reflector can run along an entire row of cell and first reflector pairs such that the first reflectors form 90 degree angles with both the cells and with the second reflector.
