Radio frequency identification system for mineral extraction equipment

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a radio frequency identification (RFID) antenna configured to communicate with an RFID tag. The system also includes an antenna tuner electrically coupled to the RFID antenna, and configured to manually tune the RFID antenna to match an inductance of the RFID tag.

Manual RFID antenna tuning system and method

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a spider configured to support multiple mineral extraction riser segments. The system also includes a gimbal disposed below the spider and configured to support the spider during operation. The system further includes one or more arcuate radio frequency identification (RFID) antennas disposed within the gimbal and/or the spider. The one or more arcuate RFID antennas are configured to communicate with one or more RFID tags coupled to each riser segment.

An artificial heart with a centrifugal pump is disclosed. In one embodiment, the artificial heart includes an impeller disposed in a housing. The impeller is configured to rotate to circulate blood through the housing. The impeller may include a set of blades on a first side of the impeller and a set of vanes on a second side opposite the first. The blades on the first side and the vanes on the second side allow blood circulation from both the first and the second sides of the impeller. The artificial heart may also or instead include a diffuser with adjustable vanes that enable variation in the output characteristics of the artificial heart pump. Various other artificial hearts, pumps, systems, and methods, including control systems and methods, are also disclosed.

Artificial heart system

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a riser segment including a flange disposed on a longitudinal end of the riser segment. The system also includes a recess disposed within an outer circumferential surface of the flange. The recess extends along an axial direction from a mating surface of the flange. The system further includes a transmitter disposed within the recess.

Riser segment RFID tag mounting system and method

A digital torque wrench includes a position sensor assembly which measures the movement of a load beam with respect to an indicator beam to determine the torque being applied to a working element by the torque wrench. The position sensor assembly includes a first position sensor portion having multiple rotatable pinion gears coupled to a potentiometer, and includes a second position sensor portion having a rack gear that engages one of the pinion gears of the first position sensor portion. The first and second position sensor portions are attached to different ones of the load beam and the indicator beam so that at least one of the pinion gears rotates along the rack gear in response to force (torque) being applied through the load beam to the working element.

Multi-pinion gear digital beam torque wrench

A digital torque wrench includes a position sensor assembly which measures the movement of a load beam with respect to an indicator beam to determine the torque being applied to a working element by the torque wrench. The position sensor assembly includes a first position sensor portion having multiple rotatable pinion gears coupled to a potentiometer, and includes a second position sensor portion having a rack gear that engages one of the pinion gears of the first position sensor portion. The first and second position sensor portions are attached to different ones of the load beam and the indicator beam so that at least one of the pinion gears rotates along the rack gear in response to force (torque) being applied through the load beam to the working element. Rotation of the pinion gears causes rotation of a potentiometer element, which produces a signal indicative of the relative displacement of the load beam with respect to the indicator beam. This displacement is then converted to a torque measurement and is displayed to a user via a display. The use of multiple pinion gears enables a high degree of resolution with respect to the torque measurements, while reducing the width profile of the torque wrench.
