A method for setting up a localization system that includes a multiplicity of stationary radio transmitters and a mobile radio transmitter is provided. The method includes determining, by the localization system, multiple relative location references between the mobile radio transmitter and a respective stationary radio transmitter by using an ultra-wideband radio technology. Each of a plurality of stationary radio transmitters of the multiplicity of stationary radio transmitters includes a respective mobile radio module. The method further includes performing a positioning of the stationary radio transmitters with the mobile radio module by performing a coarse localization and a fine localization. The coarse localization is performed via mobile radio. The positioning of the stationary radio transmitters via the coarse localization is improved by the fine localization. The method further includes determining a position of the mobile radio transmitter using the positioning of the stationary radio transmitters improved by the fine localization.

A method for coupling a relative coordinate system of a relative automatic position finding system to an absolute coordinate system of an absolute localization system includes capturing optically identifiable identifiers of the localization system using a light sensor of a mobile apparatus of the relative automatic position finding system. The method further includes ascertaining a relative position for each of the captured optically identifiable identifiers in the relative coordinate system of the relative automatic position finding system, retrieving absolute positions of the optically identifiable identifiers in the absolute coordinate system, determining a position of the light sensor in the absolute coordinate system, and coupling, based on the determined position of the light sensor, the relative coordinate system to the absolute coordinate system.

In an embodiment an ultra-wideband indoor real-time location system for determining positions of mobile tag devices within a localizing area includes a plurality of UWB signal transmitters located at preset positions and defining the localizing area, wherein the UWB signal transmitters are configured to operate with synchronized clocks and transmit UWB signals based on a UWB frame format, and wherein the UWB frame format includes unique information content for the UWB signal transmitter and at least one mobile tag device comprising a signal reception unit configured to receive the UWB signals, a time detection unit configured to derive respective arrival time points for the received UWB signals, an identification unit configured to derive the unique information content from the received UWB signals and a control unit configured to process the unique information content and the arrival time points for at least a subset of the UWB signal transmitters in a localizing algorithm to derive a position of the mobile tag device with respect to the subset of the UWB signal transmitters.

A method for manufacturing control of machining of workpieces in a manufacturing hall that includes providing a plurality of image acquisition devices configured to acquire image sequences of allocated observation areas, identifying an object to be tracked in a first image of a first image sequence using at least one object feature, determining positions of the object feature in images of subsequent image sequences, determining a current position of the object by localizing the object feature in a temporally current image of one of the image sequences, and assigning the position of the object feature in the temporally current image to a current position in the observation area of the image sequence that includes the temporally current image, and integrating the determined current position of the object into the manufacturing control of the hall.

Methods and devices for coding and identifying plate-type workpieces are provided. The methods include: coding a workpiece by producing a code with a local modification in a material structure of a base material of the workpiece within a coding region, reading out the code by performing an eddy-current measurement of a local distribution of an electrical conductivity and/or a permeability of the base material by an eddy-current sensor along a reading-out section in a reading region at least partially including the coding region, a signal calibrated to a distance of the eddy-current sensor from a surface of the reading region being determined for reading out the code, storing the read-out code in a storage device, repeating the reading out of the code by repeatedly performing the eddy-current measurement, and identifying the workpiece by comparing the stored read-out code in the storage device and the repeated read-out code.
