The invention relates to a method for producing slots () in a tube wall (), wherein a single die plate () provided with notches () is pushed into the tube () and punches () arranged in a row pierce the tube wall from the outside and in the process produce the slots (), whereupon the die plate () is rotated about its longitudinal axis out of a working position and into a withdrawal position and is pulled out of the tube (). Economical production of the slots in tubes having different cross-sectional shapes is achieved according to the invention in that during the slotting operation the tube wall () is gripped from the outside and held and is stabilized from the inside against two opposing support strips () by way of the die plate (). A slotting tool according to the invention is characterized in that a supporting tool () engages around the circumference of the tube () and in that the die plate (), as seen in the cross-sectional direction (radial direction), has two narrow sides () which are arranged at opposite ends of a longest cross-sectional extent () of the die plate (), wherein the die plate () has two axially extending support strips () between the narrow sides () and the inner side of the tube wall ().

Method for producing slots in a tube wall and slotting tool

Methods for producing slots in tube walls are described and illustrated, along with devices for producing slots in tube walls. In some cases, a first number of punches arranged in a row pierce through the tube wall and in so doing produce slots, followed by another number of punches piercing through the tube wall in such a way that the slots produced by the first number of punches alternate with respect to the slots produced by the second number of punches. Also, in some cases an internal support is used, whereby small slots are first produced in the tube wall while the internal support is within the tube. After the internal support is removed, the slots are widened to finished dimensions. The internal support can include upper and lower parts designed to engage one another in a sawtooth or undulating manner.

System and method for producing apertures in tubes

A system and method for producing flat tubes is described and illustrated. The flat tubes can be produced from at least one strip of endless band material having at least one wall part and an inner part formed with corrugations on a roller train provided with roller pairs, with the strip running in a longitudinal direction through the rollers and being shaped. The inner part of the flat tube can be formed with corrugations placed between the shaped wall parts, after which the closure of the flat tube is carried out. Production of the flat tubes can include forming spaced apart band thinning lines running in the longitudinal direction of the strip, and forming corrugation peaks and corrugation troughs at the band thinning lines.

Tubes and method and apparatus for producing tubes

A heat exchanger, such as a condenser or gas cooler, having a collecting tube which has a wall and which can be produced by deformation of a single metal strip, which collecting tube has, in its base, at least one row of openings in which heat exchanger tubes, each of which has two narrow and two wide sides, are fastened at their ends. The collecting tube can have at least two chambers, which adjoin one another approximately at a central longitudinal axis, and also a reinforcement, which is formed by the longitudinal edge strips of the metal strip.

Flat heat exchanger tubes having two narrow and two broad sides are shown and described, wherein the flat tubes can be manufactured from two continuous strips having a relatively large curve on one longitudinal edge of the strips and having a relatively small curve on the other longitudinal edge of the strips. The two strips can be arranged laterally transposed with respect to one another to form the wall of the flat tubes, so that the relatively large curve of the longitudinal edge of one strip holds in itself the relatively small curve of the longitudinal edge of the other strip to form the narrow sides of the flat tubes. The strips can be formed with at least one further contoured portion which extends in the longitudinal direction of the flat tubes and which improves cohesion of the flat tube.

Heat exchanger tube and method of forming the same

A plate heat exchanger for exchanging heat between first and second media, including a plurality of first heat exchanger plates alternately stacked with a plurality of second heat exchanger plates between a base plate and a cover plate. The first and second heat exchanger plates have at least four passages therethrough which align to define a first collecting channel and a first distribution channel for the first media and a second collecting channel and a second distribution channel for the second media. First flow channels for the first media each are defined in a space between one side of the first heat exchanger plate and a facing one side of the adjacent second heat exchanger plate. Second flow channels for the second media each are defined between the other side of the first heat exchanger plate and the other side of the adjacent second heat exchanger plate. The second flow channels are defined by recesses defined in the surface of the other side of at least one of the first and second heat exchanger plates, and the other sides are metallically connected along their surfaces.
