A converter layer bonding device, and methods of making and using the converter layer bonding device are disclosed. A converter layer bonding device as disclosed herein includes a release liner and an adhesive layer coating the release liner, the adhesive layer is solid and non-adhesive at room temperature, and is adhesive at an elevated temperature above room temperature.

Adhesive film transfer coating and use in the manufacture of light emitting devices

A method includes depositing a layer comprising a photoinitiator and a curable material onto a surface and applying a nanoimprint mold on the layer of curable material to form a mesh comprising intersecting walls defining cavities. After applying the nanoimprint mold, the mesh is illuminated with light causing decarboxylation of the photoinitiator to initiate curing of the curable material. After curing the curable material, the nanoimprint mold is removed and a wavelength converting material is deposited in the cavities to form an array of wavelength converting pixels.

The present invention encompasses materials and methods for catalyzing the cross-linking and curing of siloxane polymers. In particular, the present disclosure provides materials, methods, and conditions for vapor phase catalysis for curing organosiloxane polymers and resins, including resin linear organosiloxane block copolymers, as well as the incorporation of those methods into processes for making light emitting devices, including light emitting diodes.

Vapor-phase curing catalysis and passivation of siloxane resins in LED applications

A method is described for low temperature curing of silicone structures, including the steps of providing patterning photoresist structures on a substrate. The photoresist structures define at least one open region that can be at least partially filled with a condensation cure silicone system. Vapor phase catalyst deposition is used to accelerate the cure of the condensation cure silicone, and the photoresist structure is removed to leave free standing or layered silicone structures. Phosphor containing silicone structures that are coatable with a reflective metal or other material are enabled by the method.

A diagnostic test system includes a housing, a reader, and a data analyzer. The housing includes a port constructed and arranged to receive a test strip that includes a flow path for a fluid sample, a sample receiving zone couple to the flow path, a label that specifically binds a target analyte, a detection zone coupled to the flow path and comprising a test region exposed for optical inspection and having an immobilized test reagent that specifically binds the target analyte, and at least one reference feature. The reader is operable to obtain light intensity measurements from exposed regions of the test strip when the test strip is loaded in the port. The data analyzer is operable to perform operations including at least one of (a) identifying ones of the light intensity measurements obtained from the test region based on at least one measurement obtained from the at least one reference feature, and (b) generating a control signal modifying at least one operational parameter of the reader based on at least one measurement obtained from the at least one reference feature.

A multiple analyte detection system includes a carrier having reagents disposed thereat, with each of the reagents capable of optically changing in response to exposure to a respective analyte. The system further includes a photodetector positioned to collectively detect light interacted with each of the reagents, a processor to determine a presence or an absence of each of the analytes in response to the light collectively-detected, and an indicator to provide an indication of the presence or the absence of each of the analytes. A method of detecting multiple analytes includes exposing reagents capable of optically changing in response to exposure to a respective analyte to a sample. The method further includes collectively detecting light interacted with each of the reagents, determining a presence or an absence of each of the analytes in response to the light collectively detected, and indicating the presence or the absence of each of the analytes determined.

Multiple analyte detection systems and methods of detecting multiple analytes

A first component with a first sidewall and a second component with a second sidewall may be mounted onto an expandable film such that an original distance X is the distance between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The expandable film may be expanded such that an expanded distance Y is the distance between the first sidewall and the second sidewall and expanded distance Y is greater than original distance X. A first sidewall material may be applied within at least a part of a space between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The expandable film may be expanded such that a contracted distance Z is the distance between the first sidewall and the second sidewall, and contracted distance Z is less than expanded distance Y.

A method includes mounting a ceramic phosphor on an acrylic-free and metal-containing catalyst-free tacky layer of a dicing tape, dicing the ceramic phosphor from the dicing tape into ceramic phosphor plates, removing the ceramic phosphor plates from the dicing tape, and attaching the ceramic phosphor plates on light-emitting device (LED) dies.

A light emitting device includes an LED having a (e.g., top) light output surface, a ceramic phosphor, and an adhesive layer positioned to attach the top of the LED to the ceramic phosphor. In one embodiment the adhesive layer is composed of multiple separate patches (regions) that define at least one channel therebetween, with the channel being open to an environment to permit oxygen permeation. The adhesive layer can be applied by a patternable dispensing system.

A downconverter layer transfer device includes a release liner and a downconverter layer disposed on the release liner, the downconverter layer including a downconverter material dispersed throughout an adhesive, the downconverter layer being solid and non-adhesive at a first temperature, and adhesive at an elevated temperature above the first temperature.
