A microcontroller system for safety-critical motor vehicle systems is provided. The microcontroller system includes a plurality of subsystems arranged on a common chip. At least one of the subsystems has more than one channel and is designed to carry out a plurality of operating modes. The subsystems, in a first operating mode, are operated independently of each other and communicate with each other via an on-chip interface. In a second operating mode, at least one of the subsystems is operated by data transmission means and using non-local resources of at least one further subsystem and/or at least one of the subsystems is operating and at least one further subsystem is inactive. A method for operating such a microcontroller system and to the use thereof is also provided.

Method for communicating data between a first circuit and a second circuit, in particular a microcontroller unit and a mixed signal circuit of a motor vehicle control device, which is also distinguished by the fact that, during full duplex operation, data are serially transmitted between the first circuit and the second circuit and a transmitter of the data provides a clock signal, in particular for decoding data by a receiver. The invention also describes a communication controller and a circuit arrangement for carrying out the method.

A control computer system comprising at least two modules () which are designed to be redundant with respect to one another. The control computer system having at least one comparison unit () for monitoring the synchronization state of the at least two redundant modules () and for detecting a synchronization error at least one peripheral unit (). At least one switching matrix () which is set up to allow or block access to the at least two redundant modules or access to the peripheral unit () by the at least two redundant modules, and an error-handling unit () which is set up to receive signals from the at least one comparison unit () and to drive the at least one switching matrix () in order to completely or selectively prevent access to the at least two redundant modules or access to the peripheral unit by the at least two redundant modules.
