Communications jacks include a housing having a plug aperture in a front portion thereof and a flexible printed circuit board having a plurality of conductive paths thereon. A plurality of input contacts and a plurality of output contacts are each electrically connected to respective ones of the conductive paths on the flexible printed circuit board. A spring that is separate from the input contacts is connected to at least a first of the input contacts. Each of the input contacts comprises a separate, raised contact that is connected to the flexible printed circuit board and mounted to extend into the plug aperture.

An electrical connector may include a connector housing and a first alignment post. The first alignment post may extend from the bottom of the connector housing. The electrical connector may further include a protrusion that extends from the bottom of the connector housing. The protrusion may impede the electrical connector from tipping in at least one direction relative to a substrate. Additionally, the protrusion may be positioned relative to the center of gravity of the electrical connector to impede the electrically connector from tipping in at least one direction relative to the substrate.

A header for interconnecting electrical components comprises at least one column of conductors interposed between ground planes, wherein the column of conductors comprises at least a first, second and third conductor. The first conductor is a ground line, the second and third conductors are signal lines, and the first conductor is electrically connected to one of the ground planes, wherein the second conductor is positioned in the column in interposed relation between said first and third conductor.

Shielded header

An electrical shield is disclosed for shielding a conductor. The shield includes a top wall having an opening formed therein for the conductor. A first wall, integrally formed with the top wall includes first and second panels. One edge of the first panel is attached to the top wall and one edge of the second panel is attached to the first panel. A lead is integrally formed with the first panel. A second wall is also integrally formed with the top wall, so that a cavity is defined by the top wall, the first and second panels and the second wall. In a preferred embodiment, the shield further includes third, fourth and fifth walls, integrally formed with the top wall. The third wall includes third and fourth panels, wherein one edge of the third panel is attached to the top wall and wherein one edge of the fourth panel is attached to the third panel. In such an embodiment, a second cavity is defined by the top wall and the second, third and fourth panels and a third cavity is defined by the top wall, the fourth panel, the fourth wall and the fifth wall. Since the cavities each include only three walls, however, when several shields are positioned in abutting relationship to one another, a wall of one shield is located in the cavity opening of an adjacent shield, thereby closing the cavity.
