A method for generating a chart suggestion list using data present in a data table includes providing the data table, one or more data types of a plurality of cells of the data table and one or more statistics pertaining to the plurality of cells as input to a machine learning model to obtain one or more outputs indicating one or more chart types for the data table, and creating one or more suggested charts based on the indicated chart types. Each of the one or more suggested charts represents at least a subset of the data in the data table. The method also includes generating a chart suggestion list including at least one of the one or more suggested charts.

Generating charts from data in a data table

A customized GUI of a first electronic document editing application of a plurality of electronic document editing applications is stored at a cloud storage system in association with an identifier of a third party platform. The customized GUI is to be embedded into a GUI of the third party platform. A script is creating, based on the customized GUI, to generate a preloaded version of the customized GUI to preload for presentation at a user device. The script is transmitted to the third party platform.

Embedding productivity applications in third party platforms

A method for obtaining server-side and client-side calculations performed in a document includes presenting, on a client computer, the document stored on a server and receiving an input, where the input causes a calculation in the document. The client computer performs the calculation on the client computer and sends the input to the server to concurrently perform the calculation on the server. The client computer obtains a first result from the calculation performed on the client computer and a second result from the calculation performed on the server, selects the first result or the second result as a selected result based on which of the first result or the second result is obtained quicker from the calculation performed on the client computer and the calculation performed on the server, and presents, in the document, the selected result to the user.

Performing server-side and client-side operations on spreadsheets

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for processing a natural language query on data tables. According to some embodiments, a natural language query may be originated by a user via a user interface. The natural language query may be parsed to obtain a query term, and a grid range may be identified in a data table as relevant to the query term. A table summary may be prepared including a plurality of characteristics based on the grid range. A logic operation may then be determined to apply on the plurality of characteristics to derive the query term. The logic operation may then be translated into a formula executable on the data table, and the formula is applied on the data table to generate a result in response to the natural language query.

Systems and methods for processing a natural language query in data tables

A method receives a request of a first user of the third party platform to customize a GUI of a first electronic document editing application. The method provides the requested GUI. The method receives input of the first user for one or more GUI components associated with features of the first electronic document editing application. The method customizes the GUI of the first electronic document editing application based on the received input of the first user. The method stores the customized GUI. The method receives an indication of a request of a second user of the third party platform to manipulate an electronic document of the first electronic document type. The method provides the customized GUI of the first electronic document editing application.

A method for generating a chart suggestion list using data present in a data table includes parsing cells of the data table to identify one or more columns and one or more data types of the cells, performing a statistical analysis of the one or more columns to obtain one or more statistics about the one or more columns, and creating one or more suggested charts based on the one or more statistics about the one or more columns and the one or more data types of the cells. Each of the one or more suggested charts represents at least a subset of the data in the data table. The method also includes generating a chart suggestion list including at least one of the one or more suggested charts.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for processing a natural language query on data tables. The client computer performs the calculation of the one or more cell values on the client computer and sends the input to the server to perform the calculation of the one or more cell values on the server. The client computer then displays in the spreadsheet a result of the calculation of the one or more cell values to the user, where the result of the calculation is taken from the quicker of the calculation performed on the client computer or the calculation performed on the server.

Systems and methods for viewing filters on a collaborative spreadsheet stored on a cloud computing service include accessing, from each of a plurality of client computers, a first sheet of a spreadsheet stored on a cloud computing service, where a plurality of filters is associated with the first sheet. A first client computer in the plurality of client computers receives a command by a first user to apply a first filter in the plurality of filters to the first sheet, and applies the first filter to the first sheet on the first client computer. The filtered first sheet is displayed to the first user, and a second client computer in the plurality of client computers concurrently displays an unfiltered first sheet.

Non-collaborative filters in a collaborative document

Systems and methods for processing user actions on a collaborative spreadsheet include accessing an unfiltered sheet of a spreadsheet stored on a server to display on a client computer, where a plurality of filters is associated with the unfiltered sheet, and receiving a selection by a user of a first filter in the plurality of filters to be applied to the unfiltered sheet. A filtered sheet is displayed to the user, where the filtered sheet is obtained by applying the first filter to the unfiltered sheet. User actions inputted by a user on the client computer are received that reference cells of the unfiltered sheet. User actions are sent to the server and transformed against the first filter. The display of the filtered sheet is updated based on the transformed user action.

Systems and methods for providing filters for collaborative spreadsheets include storing a spreadsheet on a server, where the spreadsheet comprises a plurality of sheets, granting a plurality of client computers concurrent access to the spreadsheet, and receiving from the plurality of client computers a plurality of filters to be applied to a first sheet in the plurality of sheets. The plurality of filters are stored on the server, and the plurality of filters is associated with the first sheet. The plurality of filters are provided to each client computer. When a user on a first client computer in the plurality of client computers applies a first filter in the plurality of filters to the first sheet, the display of the first sheet on a second client computer in the plurality of client computers is independent of the filter application on the first client computer.
