A container lid comprising a frustum shaped sidewall, a chuck shoulder formed between an upper edge of the sidewall and a seaming panel, and at least one translative motion guide feature extending radially inward from the sidewall. A bottom (lower) edge of the sidewall can be closed by a bottom wall or rolled creating an open design. The frustum shaped sidewall and size of the translative motion guide features is designed to enable nesting of multiple container lids/caps. The lid is seamed to a container body. The lid and cap each include sealing surfaces designed to engage with one another creating a gas and liquid impervious seal, preferably capable of retaining pressure within a container. Alternatively, the translative motion guide feature can be integral with a frustum shaped container body, such as a cup.

A plug styled closure cap for resealing a resealable container. The cap includes a body comprising a sidewall, a motion translating feature formed on an exterior surface of the sidewall of the plug style closure cap body that translates a rotational motion to an axial motion when engaged with a mating translating feature formed on an interior surface of a container opening, a sealing surface that engages with a mating sealing surface of the container opening, and a tamper evidence feature integral with the cap body. The sealing surface can include an elastomeric element. The tamper evidence feature can include at least one segment defined by frangible elements. A method of use enables resealing of the container and indication when the container is no longer factory sealed.

A tongue attachment assembly includes a sheath designed for attachment to a patient's tongue using a vacuum. An accessory attachment feature comprising a groove located between a flange and the distal end of the body of the sheath. Vacuum can be drawn through a valve or an external vacuum source. The tongue attachment assembly can be adapted for any of a variety of applications by selecting an appropriate accessory and attaching the accessory to the sheath by the accessory attachment feature. Accessories can include a sleep apnea attachment, a gas delivery mask retention attachment, and the like. The tongue attachment assembly can be fabricated by replicating a shape of a patient's tongue as a portion of a mold, then using the mold to generate the tongue attachment assembly. The tongue mold can be obtained by a scanning process or an impression or casting process.

A container assembly including a body and a lid, the lid comprising a rotational and axial guide feature extending radially from a radially interior surface of a lid sidewall. The rotational and axial guide feature is designed to provide axial translation/retention of an accessory when the accessory is rotationally engaged with the lid sidewall. The container and accessory can include an interface that creates a gas impervious/liquid impervious seal therebetween. The seal can be provided between sealing surfaces of the container and the accessory. The lid can include or exclude a bottom wall. The lid can include a score line defining a tear panel in the bottom wall, wherein the tear panel can provide an opening through the bottom wall when the score line is fractured.

The score line can be fractured using a stay-on-tab, an incisor, a shearing force, etc.

The seal can be provided between a bottom surface of the cap and the top surface of the lid, a feature of the sidewalls of the cap and the lid, or any other sealing interface. A resealable container lid assembly including a cap rotationally assembled to a lid. The cap rotates between storage, opening, removal and resealing positions. Various configurations of cams and ramps are used to generate and apply an opening force to a score line. An elastomeric sealing element is disposed between the cap and the socket so that when the cap is in the fully seated or sealed position, an substantially or completely airtight seal is created to prevent the contents of the container from leaking out. Further enhancements are disclosed that include a score line structure in the socket bottom wall that facilitates a predictable and repeatable opening of the container along the score line. A grip is provided that includes a gap or space into which a coin or other implement can be inserted to allow the consumer a better grip to provide adequate opening force.

A resealable beverage container includes a cap that moves between storage, opening, removal and resealing positions. Ramps are used to enhance an opening force generally delivered by the engagement between the socket and the cap. An elastomeric sealing element is disposed between the cap and the socket so that when the cap is in the fully seated or sealed position, an airtight or at least substantially airtight seal is created to prevent the contents of the container from leaking out. Further enhancements are disclosed that include a score line structure in the socket bottom wall that facilitates a predictable and repeatable opening of the container along the score line. A grip is provided that includes a gap or space into which a coin or other implement can be inserted to allow the consumer a better grip to provide adequate opening force.

Resealable beverage containers and methods of making same

Resealable beverage containers include caps that are twisted to impart translational motion of the cap to push a tear panel into the container. Cam elements are used to convert rotational movement to translational movement. The caps are preferably made of molded plastic material, and include cam elements formed on the sidewalls of the caps that engage cam followers or projections formed on the inner cylindrical surface of a socket which is formed in the lid of the beverage container. Methods of manufacturing resealable beverage containers avoid the need to form rivets and to attach pull tabs, thus saving costs and making the beverage containers more easily recycled.
