A bone material dispensing system is provided. The bone material dispensing system comprises a funnel having a proximal portion, the proximal portion comprising a top end and a bottom end, the top end opposite the bottom end, the top end comprising a surface having a protrusion configured to receive a locking member of a bone material dispensing device and the bottom end comprising a connector configured to secure the funnel to the bone material dispensing device. A bone material dispensing system comprises a pusher and a holder is provided. A method of dispensing bone material with the bone material dispensing system is also provided.

Bone material dispensing system and methods of use

A bone implant for enclosing bone material is provided. The bone implant comprises a covering, which can be a biodegradable mesh. The covering is configured to be rolled into a diameter to at least partially enclose the bone material within the covering. In some embodiments, the covering includes a body portion and a closure portion adjacent to the body portion. The closure portion is configured to hold the covering in a rolled configuration to a predetermined diameter to at least partially enclose the bone material. A kit and a method of using the bone implant are also provided.

Rollable bone implant for enclosing bone material

A bone implant for enclosing bone material is provided. The bone implant comprises a covering, which can be a biodegradable mesh. The covering is configured to be rolled into a diameter to at least partially enclose the bone material within the covering. In some embodiments, the covering also includes a closure member, the closure member configured to hold the covering in a rolled configuration to a predetermined diameter to at least partially enclose the bone material. A kit and a method of using the bone implant are also provided.

A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis, the proximal end having a first opening and the distal end comprising a frame having a front wall, a back wall, and an air gap, the back wall having a back opening and the front wall having a second opening such that the first opening, the back opening and the second opening are configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger, the front wall comprising a generally flat contact surface configured to engage a funnel; and a locking member pivotably connected to an upper surface of the housing and extending adjacent to the upper surface of the housing, the locking member comprising a locking surface extending adjacent to the distal end of the housing, the locking member being movable in a locking position to lock the portion of the funnel with the housing. A bone material dispensing system and a method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing system are also provided.

A tissue treatment apparatus and method for treating bone tissue has a controller, an enclosure, a reagent supply system, a draining configuration, and a gas relief valve is controlled by the controller. A bioactive agent may be applied through the reagent supply system. Optionally provided is a gas evacuation assembly, a gas supply unit, a thermal unit for heating or cooling reagents or gases, a sonication unit, any or each operated by the controller. The method provides for programming controller to effect a treatment procedure. In an embodiment of the present application the treatment procedure effects demineralization of the bone material.

Tissue processing apparatus and method for infusing bioactive agents into tissue

A bone implant holding and shaping tray is provided. The tray includes a first segment having a distal end and a first surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material. The tray includes a second segment having a second surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material, the second segment having a proximal end configured to be coupled to the distal end of the first segment so as to extend the first surface to hold and shape the bone implant. Methods of making and using the bone implant holding and shaping tray are also provided.

In some embodiments, the dispensing apparatus comprises a tray and a foldable container. The device comprises a cannula having an opening at a distal tip of the cannula, the opening configured for suction of a surgical site, and a movable tissue capture member having a portion disposed within the opening or adjacent to the cannula, the movable tissue capture member configured to capture tissue when moved in a first position. The interior surface is configured to receive the particulate bone material and a hydration fluid. A method of delivering a therapeutic agent to a nucleus pulposus of an intervertebral disc is provided. The method comprises inserting a delivery tool containing the therapeutic agent through an anterior portion, a lateral portion, or an anterolateral portion of an annulus fibrosus and into the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc; and delivering the therapeutic agent to the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc. Devices and kits are also provided.

A method of making an electron beam irradiated osteoinductive implant is provided. The method comprises exposing an osteoinductive implant containing demineralized bone matrix (DBM) fibers to electron beam radiation at a dose of from about 10 kilograys to 100 kilograys for a period of time. The electron beam irradiation reduces microorganisms in the osteoinductive implant, and the electron beam irradiated osteoinductive implant retains osteoinductive properties. Methods of implantation and an irradiated osteoinductive implant are also disclosed.

A device for mixing a bone material with a liquid is provided. The device comprises a chamber having a proximal end and a distal end, and the bone material disposed within the chamber, the bone material comprising a coherent mass of milled and lyophilized demineralized bone fibers; and a plunger having at least a portion slidably disposed within the proximal end of the chamber and configured to dispense the bone material mixed with liquid from the distal end of the chamber, when the plunger is in an extended position.

A method for treating a spine comprises the steps of: inserting a surgical instrument into a tissue cavity, the surgical instrument including an image guide oriented relative to a sensor to communicate a signal representative of a position of the surgical instrument relative to the tissue cavity; displaying a selected configuration with a distal end of the surgical instrument in the tissue cavity; tracking movement of the selected configuration in the tissue cavity with a tracking device that communicates with a processor to generate data for display of the movement; and determining a volume of the tissue cavity based on the data.
