The invention provides surface treatments that reduce or eliminate marine biofouling of various surfaces. A surface that is to be subjected to a marine environment can be treated with a mPEG-DOPA. The treated surface is thus rendered less susceptible to fouling of the surface.

Surface independent, surface-modifying, multifunctional coatings and applications thereof

A signal device consisting of first and second inks applied to a surface. The first ink is sensitive to either light or air. The second ink is stable in the presence of light and/or air. The surface having first and second areas, wherein the second ink is applied in work or character form to said first area to form a signal word. The first ink is applied to the second area and is of a color so as to cooperate with the second ink to camouflage the signal word. A protective shield blocks the sensitive ink from exposure to light and/or air, wherein after a metered period of time of exposure to light or air the sensitive ink fades such that the contrast in color between the faded sensitive ink and the stable ink reveals the signal word.

Signal device

This invention relates to the use of a poisoned substance to kill flying insects and to the isolation of this substance from the surrounding environment. It deals specifically with the use of a device that will attract the insects into an enclosed are that has been coated with a toxin capable of destroying them, and when dead, will allow for the collection of the insects in a sanitary manner. Additionally, the use of this device will enhance the efficacy of a given insecticide by providing the basis for the collection and formation of natural pheromone secreted by the insects.

Tamper resistant flying insect control device

This invention relates to the placement of insecticides in such a manner that precludes their contact by larger non target species and in a manner that isolates these insecticides form contact with food and other surfaces that may be contaminated by random application of insecticide products. Specifically, the invention concerns itselft with the construction of a device that allows containment of the insecticide in a manner that will deliver a lethal dose to the target insect. Additionally, the construction of the device entices crawling insects to its interior and thereby insures a more effective usage of a limited amount of insecticide concentrate. And, the invention allows for unique and stable application of premeasured amount of insecticide product in a manner that insures the stability of the insecticide and thereby lengthens the useful killing life of the insecticide product.

Contact poison delivery system

This invention relates to the control of flying insects in and around homes, commercial establishments, farm buildings and the like. Specifically, the formulation, design and technique involved in the device allows the user to maintain an insect free environment and to dispense an insecticide capable of eliminating flying insects in a safe and effective manner. The use of a translucent shield that contains an insecticide that leeches to the surface through the heat of ambient light, while converting ambient light into a spectrum that attracts flying insects provides an economical method of delivering a killing agent to the insect.

Flying insect control device

This invention relates to the packaging of a rodenticide product for consumer use in a manner the will inhibit the spillage of rodenticide when the user opens the package for presentation of the rodenticide to the target species such as house mice or rats. Inherent in the art is the teaching of a method of presentation that is not only user friendly, but one that provides the rodent with an environment that is conducive to its natural patterns of eating and concealment. The instant invention provides a safer method of offering a poisoned bait to a rodent population while also insuring that the palatability of the bait will be enhanced by providing the rodent with a secure habitat for its consumption of the poisoned product, thereby increasing the overall effectiveness of the baiting program.

Baffled rodenticide box

This invention relates to parafinized rodenticide bait blocks in general and, more specifically to the actual form of these bait blocks. The invention concerns itself with the physical construction and shape of the block and will provide a more effective rodenticide by providing a bait block that will have a continuous biting surface that a rodent such as a mouse or rat can knaw at at all times as the block is being consumed. The use of this block provides the user with an individual and metered portion of bait designed to be more effective in eliminating household rodents such as Norway Rats, Roof Rats and House Mice and will, by its use, insure the total consumption of the bait block, thereby providing increased efficasy of the block and greater safety in the use of these poisoned blocks because less residual bait is left behind.

Rodenticide bait block

This invention relates to the containment of a poisoned rodent bait in a manner that isolates the bait from exposure to non target species and in a manner that allows the bait to be placed among agricultural crops with ease and efficiency. The rodent bait station contains a number of unique features that will allow agricultural users to identify the location of the stations for servicing with ease and speed, and provides for a method of securing the station to the ground that is integral to the construction of the station itself. Its novel shape allows for the placement of the bait stations in and among thickly grown vegetation, and in areas that are most likely to contain rodent harborages. The rodent bait station is designed as an entire system of rodenticide placement that incorporates features for the dispensing of bait, and for the operation of a large scale rodent elimination in difficult climatic and environmental conditions.

The invention relates to the containment of a block of rodenticide bait in a manner that precludes the contact of said bait by unintended target species such as children, pets, and wildlife. This device is used to provide a compact method of presenting baits to target species such as house mice, in a manner that is both safe and effective, and in such a manner that will not allow probing at the toxic substance with flexible objects such as wires, straws and other similar structures that might be bent into an easily fabricted configuration by children. The use of a sophisticated series of internal baffle structures that protect the bait from contact by objects inserted from the outside while allowing a rodent to easily traverse the bait station and consume the bait contained therein, make this device one of the most practical methods of presenting poisoned substances in areas that might become accessible to childred, pets and wildlife.

Deflective tamper resistant rodent bait station

This invention relates to the safe containment of a rodenticide prior to their placement in tamper-resistant bait stations and more specifically to their containment in a device that will afford maximum protection of the baits from unauthorized contact with humans, non target species and the environment. A tray carries a rodenticide bait block and is packaged and dispensed in an outer case, or covered with a cover member, which is removed before the tray and bait is placed in a bait station feeder.

Rodenticide refill cassette

This invention relates to rodent bait stations in general and more specifically to a method of preventing loose bait from falling from these stations when they are tipped or shaken. This design incorporates a new and unique method of isolating the bait within the station when the station has been picked up and put into a position that would allow toxic material to fall free. In effect, the use of this device will allow users to bait for rodents in areas that might become accessible to children, pets and wildlife without fear that the rodenticide will come into contact with non-target species.

Spill resistant rodent bait station

This invention relates to the containment of rodent baits in a protected container that can easily be serviced by authorized technicians and one that presents baits to a target rodent population. Specifically, the device is designed to provide a pest control operator with a highly effective and protective containment structure that can be adopted to numerous forms of rodent baits and one that can be knocked down to form a relatively flat package when not in use. This use of a knock down device provides the user with a device that can be efficiently stored prior to installation and one that can be shipped economically over long distances. The use of two separate gates or containment sections allows the refill of only that section of the bait structure that may have been attacked by the rodents and conserves the use of bait to the actual feeding patterns of the rodent population. Additionally, the use of separate, removable compartments allows for ease of refill and for the mixing of types of rodenticides to best measure the effect of the various forms on the target population and to present that form that the rodents find to be most palatable.

Collapsible rodenticide bait station

A contact poison delivery system relates to the containment of a rodenticide impregnated wick in a 'tamper-resistant' containers that will coat a rat or mouse passing through said container with a lethal dose of poison, ingested by the rodent as it preens and cleans itself. The position of the wick and the configuration of the internal structure of the container insures a maximum application to the rodent traversing the device while isolating the wick, its structure and the poisoned substance from prying hands. The device provides the additional advantage of being easily fabricated and for allowing a premeasured and readily definable amount of poison to be encased in a manner that will insure its stability and safe usage.

This invention relates to the containment of poisoned baits in a manner that will isolate them from non target species while allowing a user friendly method of reloading the station. Specifically, the device is designed for use in areas accessible to children, pets, and wildlife and, the method of reloading the baiter allows the use of common types of packaging of retail rodenticides, in a manner that affords them with a reasonably protective containment in the aformentioned areas The baiter is designed to allow the introduction of a prepacked rodenticide product on one level of the device and, to allow a rodent access through a totally seperate level. This lateral division of the containment system and the set back of the rodent entry level makes it virtually impossible to reach the stored bait by attempting to compromise the structure of the device with fingers of common objects that might be found around a household.
