A mounted storage device includes a mount for mounting the device on a vertical surface. A load arm is supported on the mount and structured to support an object thereon. The load arm is movable between a load position for loading the object on the load arm and a store position for storing the supported object. The storage device also includes a force device connected between the mount and the load arm that urges the load arm in a direction from the load position to the store position. The storage device further includes a resistance damper connected between the mount and the load arm that resists movement of the load arm in both directions between the load position and the store position. The resistance damper includes a plurality of damper members that creates the resistance by at least one of friction and compression tension between the damper members.

Mounted storage device

A wall-mounted storage device for lifting and storing an object includes a stand adapted for mounting the device on the wall. An arm is pivotally connected to the stand and has an attachment for the object. An anchor member is also pivotally connected to the stand. A damper is connected between the anchor member and the stand. The damper is adapted to extend when pulled upward by the pivoting anchor member. A lockable spring is connected between the anchor member and the arm. The device includes a trigger mechanism adapted to unlock the spring when the object is attached to the arm. When the spring is unlocked, the spring is adapted to extend to push the arm upward. When the spring is locked, the pivoting anchor member and the extendible damper cooperate to enable the arm to be manually lifted. The damper provides a controlled descent when the arm is lowered.

Wall-mounted storage device

A transfer system that moves packages on a conveyor to an accumulator and back thereto includes a plurality of spaced-apart rollers which rotate to transport the packages. The accumulator includes a plurality of storage shelves, each of which is formed from a plurality of spaced apart fingers. The transfer system includes a support structure, an actuator for moving the support structure a predetermined vertical distance and a predetermined horizontal distance, and a plurality of transfer fins secured to the support structure. Each transfer fin has a relatively small thickness and is adapted to fit within a space between a pair of adjacent rollers used in the conveyor and a space between a pair of accumulator shelf finger. The space between the rollers and the space between the accumulator fingers are generally aligned such that the fins can be moved vertically to supportably lift the package off of the conveyor rollers and moved horizontally to deposit the package on the accumulator shelves. In a first mode of operation, the transfer fins have a length which is approximately equal to the total length of the number of rows of packages which can be stored on the accumulator shelf. In this embodiment, the transfer fins move a predetermined horizontal distance which is approximately equal to the length of one package. Each successive horizontal movement of the fins moves the packages sideways a distance equal to one-package, thereby filling the accumulator shelf by a series of stepped movement of the packages. In a second mode of operation, the transfer fins have a length which is approximately equal to the length of one package to be stored on the accumulator shelf. In this embodiment, the transfer fins move a variable horizontal distance depending on the row or position where the package is to be stored.

Transfer system for a conveyor

A wall-mounted storage device for lifting and storing an object includes a stand adapted for mounting the device on the wall. An arm is pivotally connected to the stand and has an attachment for the object. An anchor member is also pivotally connected to the stand. A damper is connected between the anchor member and the stand. The damper is adapted to extend when pulled upward by the pivoting anchor member. A lockable spring is connected between the anchor member and the arm. The device includes a trigger mechanism adapted to unlock the spring when the object is attached to the aim. When the spring is unlocked, the spring is adapted to extend to push the arm upward. When the spring is locked, the pivoting anchor member and the extendible damper cooperate to enable the arm to be manually lifted. The damper provides a controlled descent when the arm is lowered.

An accumulator for storing rows of articles thereon includes a frame having upper and lower shafts rotatably supported thereon. A plurality of sprockets are mounted on each of the upper and lower shafts for rotation therewith. Each of the sprockets defines a radius. An electric motor is provided for selectively rotating the shafts and the sprockets mounted thereon. A plurality of roller chains are mounted on associated pairs of the upper and lower sprockets for movement when the shafts and sprockets are rotated. Each of the roller chains includes a plurality of spaced apart pins. A plurality of link are carried on each of the roller chains for movement therewith. Each of the links has a pair of apertures formed therethrough and a pair of arcuate slots formed therethrough. The apertures and the slots having respective first edges which define a straight line and respective second edges which define a radius. The radius defined by each of the links is substantially equal to the radius defined by each of the sprockets. Lift rails and lift finger subassemblies are secured to each of the links which define shelf positions for supporting rows of articles thereon. The lift finger subassemblies are oriented at a small angle relative to the links to retain the articles on each of the shelf positions.

Accumulator for conveyor system

A guide system for packages on a conveyor system includes a generally linear guide member. The guide member aligns the packages as they move along the conveyor system. A generally linear control member is connected to the guide member and lies generally parallel thereto. The control member can be rotated around its longitudinal axis to move the guide member in a generally arcuate path. This causes adjustment of the guide member to accommodate different sizes of packages.

An accumulator for storing rows of articles thereon includes a frame having upper and lower shafts rotatably supported thereon. A plurality of sprockets are mounted on each of the upper and lower shafts for rotation therewith Each of the sprockets defines a radius. An electric motor is provided for selectively rotating the shafts and the sprockets mounted thereon. A plurality of roller chains are mounted on associated pairs of the upper and lower sprockets for movement when the shafts and sprockets are rotated. Each of the roller chains includes a plurality of spaced apart pins. A plurality of link are carried on each of the roller chains for movement therewith. Each of the links has a pair of apertures formed therethrough and a pair of arcuate slots formed therethrough. The apertures and the slots having respective first edges which define a straight line and respective second edges which define a radius. The radius defined by each of the links is substantially equal to the radius defined by each of the sprockets. Lift rails and lift finger subassemblies are secured to each of the links which define shelf positions for supporting rows of articles thereon. The lift finger subassemblies are oriented at a small angle relative to the links to retain the articles on each of the shelf positions.
