A control system for a can decorator structured to apply images to cans includes a can inspection system structured to capture images of a can, a controller structured to receive the captured images and to analyze the captured images to determine a quality of the image applied to the can based on a comparison of the captured images and a reference image, and an adjustment assembly structured to adjust a circumferential or translational position of a plate cylinder attached to a plate cylinder shaft end of a plate cylinder shaft, the adjustment assembly including at least one stepper motor, wherein operation of the at least one stepper motor causes the circumferential or translational adjustment.

Can decorator inspection and control system and adjustment assemblies

A quick-change die assembly for a necker machine includes an outer die mounting, an outer die, an outer die quick-release coupling, an inner die mounting, an inner die assembly, and an inner die quick-release coupling. The outer die is coupled to the outer die mounting by the outer die quick-release coupling. The inner die assembly is coupled to the inner die mounting by the inner die quick-release coupling.

Process shaft tooling assembly

A can bodymaker includes a housing assembly, a drive mechanism, a ram assembly, a domer assembly, and a ram body dampening assembly. The ram assembly includes an elongated ram body. The drive mechanism is operatively coupled to the ram assembly so that the drive mechanism imparts a reciprocating motion to the ram body. The ram body dampening assembly is disposed adjacent the ram body path of travel. The ram body dampening assembly includes a housing and a dampening member. The dampening member is disposed immediately adjacent the ram body path of travel.
