A method of applying weights to the legs of instant pop-up canopies and the like is disclosed. The weights help prevent uplift under windy conditions. Each weight case is comprised of two half-round hollow cases. The case halves are joined by hinges on one edge and latches on the opposite edge. Each case half has a full length inner V-groove, which when closed, create a throughbore for the canopy legs. Each case half top is fitted with a filler hole and cap. The hollow cases can be filled with a variety of weight material. The weighted case is wrapped around the lower leg of the canopy and latched shut to secure the weight around the canopy leg. The weight case rests on the flanged footplate of each leg. Four to six weight cases are required for each application.

Canopy weight case

A life-like striking dummy as an attachment to a punching bag for use in boxing, martial arts, and the like, is disclosed. More specifically its purpose is to augment and improve realism of training utilizing a punching bag as a mounting device. The striking dummy is sculptured three-dimensionally and comprises a first portion configured to anatomically resemble a human head, and is connected by a neck to a second portion configured to anatomically resemble a human torso. The total embodiment is detailed with facial, muscular, and skeletal features as targets to be struck by the user. The head, neck, and torso are homogeneously connected by construction preferably utilizing an integral skin flexible polyurethane foam material. The integral skin of the polyurethane is a near solid resilient protective outer layer which serves to prevent injury or damage to the striking dummy or user. The cellular foam core is homogeneously distributed throughout the entire inner structure of the embodiment and is human-like in density, providing a realistic feel of striking an opponent. The striking dummy is configured with mounting straps for the purpose of attachment to a punching bag. The striking dummy may be configured with a radiused vertically positioned recess at the back, to allow a contoured mating surface to a punching bag.

An air valve for controlling the supply of air to a venturi jet of a spa includes a housing, a cylindrical barrel, means for sealing between the housing and the barrel, and means for rotating the barrel. The housing has an interior chamber extending between an open, cylindrical bore at one end and a pipe coupling at the other end. The housing mounts on the inside wall of the spa, with the open end of the bore facing the inside of the spa and the rest of the housing extending through the side wall and positioned outside the spa. The cylindrical barrel is insertable into and rotatably mounted within the cylindrical bore of the housing. The housing and barrel each include ports that, when overlapping, provide a path for air to flow from a point exterior of the housing, through the overlapping ports, through the interior of the barrel and housing to the pipe coupling. Rotating the barrel to a position where the ports do not overlap blocks the air flow path. The sealing means prevents air from flowing through the valve except when the housing and barrel ports overlap.

Air valve for spas and baths

A combination skimmer and filter apparatus for filtering water drawn from the surface of a water-filled spa is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing that is attached to a side wall of the spa, a filter positioned within the housing, a strainer basket that is positioned within the housing and above the filter, an access door that is releasably coupled to the housing and that opens for access to the filter and strainer basket, and a weir plate that is pivotably coupled to the top of the access door.
