A reciprocating die roll forming machine for forming a pattern such as a thread form on the outer surface of a cylindrical blank includes at least one set of reciprocating dies operating upon the blank which rotates in place. The machine includes a slide and bearing combination to support the dies belt driven by a servo-motor controlled by a central processing unit. Mechanism is provided to deliver and position a blank for engagement by the dies. In one form, the machine includes multiple die sets to produce multiple parts during one die reciprocation cycle. In another form, the machine employs separate drive mechanisms to independently drive each die of a set.

A multi-station, reciprocating die pattern forming machine (), including a pair of parallel reciprocal slide members () with spaced pairs of pattern forming dies () thereon reciprocal between an insert position and an eject position. Drive mechanism () reciprocates the die pairs alternately between the insert position and eject position. Mechanism delivers and positions a pattern receiving blank () to a pair of dies when in the insert position. Axial translation of the dies causes the dies to rotate the blank at a center of process and impart a pattern upon the blank. Servo-motors on blank positioning mechanism provide feedback recognition of the position of the blanks during processing. The invention also relates to a method of patterning blanks.

Multi-station reciprocating die roll forming machine

A compression limiting fastening system incorporating a spring element and cooperating compression limiting sleeve adapted for substantially coaxial receipt of a fastening element through a fastened component so as to apply a relatively light load to an outer surface of the fastened component during the fastening operation. Once fastened down, the compression limiting sleeve supports the fastening load while the spring element applies a relatively light opposing load to the fastened component.

The battery cell plate frame assembly comprising a frame, and a sub-assembly comprising a conductive cell plate connector bracket, a conductive terminal, a fuse interposed between the connector bracket and the terminal and a non-conductive bridge separately supporting the connector bracket, the terminal and the fuse. In one form, the connector bracket and terminal include planar elements frictionally connected to the bridge. The bridge includes grasping prongs to releasably support the fuse. The fuse includes a wire connected to the connector bracket and a wire connected to the terminal.

Battery cell plate frame assembly and method

A single retainer is configured to securely retain a fastener and first and second limiting members. The retainer may include a main body, fastener-engaging members extending from the main body, and limiter-engaging members from the main body. The fastener-engaging members are configured to securely engage a portion of the fastener, and the limiter-engaging members are configured to securely engage portions of the first and second limiting members. The fastener-engaging members and the limiter-engaging members are configured to retain the fastener and the first and second limiting members.

A ring bolt and a subassembly thereof; the ring bolt having a shank, a first fastening thread extending from a distal end of the shank and a helical ring extending from the fastening thread. The major diameter defined by the helical ring is greater than the major diameter defined by the fastening thread. A component to be captured together with the ring bolt in a subassembly has at least one inward projection in an opening therethrough to define a restricted entrance wider then the major diameter of the fastening thread but smaller than the major diameter of the helical ring.
