A method of dispensing surgical fasteners includes providing an applicator instrument having a housing with a cartridge opening, an elongated shaft extending from the housing, a firing system disposed within the housing for dispensing surgical fasteners, and an actuator for activating the firing system. The method includes forming a surgical opening in tissue, inserting a distal end of the elongated shaft into the surgical opening, inserting a cartridge containing a plurality of first surgical fasteners into the cartridge opening, and engaging the actuator for dispensing one of the first surgical fasteners from the distal end of the elongated shaft. While maintaining the distal end of the elongated shaft inside the surgical opening, the cartridge is removed from the cartridge opening, a second cartridge containing a plurality of second surgical fasteners is inserted into the cartridge opening, and the actuator is engaged for dispensing one of the second surgical fasteners from the distal end of the elongated shaft.

A fluid transfer device comprises a body comprising a first connecting portion comprising a first fluid channel to fluidically communicate with an interior of a diluent container, a second connecting portion comprising a second fluid channel to fluidically communicate with an interior of a medicament container, a third connecting portion comprising a third fluid channel to fluidically communicate with an interior of a pooling container, and a fourth fluid channel to fluidically communicate with a pump device. A movable part is engaged with and movable relative to the body to transfer the fluid transfer device into one of a first configuration, a second configuration and a third configuration. When in the first configuration, the second fluid channel is fluidically coupled to the third fluid channel, and when in the second configuration, the first fluid channel is fluidically connectable to the third fluid channel.

A vial adapter for connecting to an injection vial comprises a barrel and a barrel head with an outlet that is sealed by a pierceable stopper. The vial adapter comprises an adapter body comprising a top wall and a sidewall. The sidewall projects from the top wall in a longitudinal direction to form a receptacle with a distal side of the top wall The receptacle is configured to receive at least a portion of the barrel head. A movable part comprises a base part and an elongated fluid channel extending through the top wall along the longitudinal direction. The elongated fluid channel comprises a proximal channel section merging into a mechanical connector, and a distal channel section with a channel aperture. The movable part is adjustably movable relative to the adapter body along the longitudinal direction to align the channel aperture with an inside surface of the pierceable stopper.

A vial adapter comprises an adapter body comprising a top wall and a sidewall projecting from the top wall in a longitudinal direction to form a receptacle with a distal side of the top wall. The receptacle is configured to receive at least a portion of a barrel head of an injection vial. A movable part comprises a base part and a spike fixed to the base part. The spike extends through the top wall in a distal direction into the receptacle. An actuating member is mechanically coupled to the movable part, and is movable relative to the adapter body from a start position to an end position along a first direction to induce a distally directed displacement of the movable part relative to the adapter body. The mechanical coupling between the movable part and the actuating member is releasable when the actuating member is in the end position.

A uterine manipulator includes a handle and a central shaft that extends distally from the handle. The central shaft includes a distal end portion supporting a balloon. The central shaft also supports a cervical cup. An occluder shaft is slidably supported on the central shaft. A non-inflatable plug is secured to the occluder shaft and configured to move with the occluder shaft as the occluder shaft slides along the central shaft.

The present disclosure provides a cannula assembly having a tube with an internal lumen, a proximal end portion and a distal end portion configured for insertion into a patient. The cannula assembly further includes a housing rotatably coupled to the tube between a closed position and one or more open positions. The housing contains an electronic component comprising an image transmission device, such as a camera, for collecting and receiving images of the surgical site. The housing is adapted to provide the image transmission device with a longitudinal or forward view when the housing is in the closed position and a transverse view (i.e., offset from the longitudinal axis) when the housing is in one of the open positions. The housing is disposed distal to the proximal end portion and proximal to the distal end portion of the tube to protect the image transmission device as the distal end portion creates an incision and/or passes through an existing incision in the patient.

A fluid transfer device includes a body, a first connecting portion comprising a first fluid channel to fluidically communicate with an interior of the diluent container, a second connecting portion comprising a second fluid channel to fluidically communicate with an interior of a medicament container, and a third fluid channel to fluidically communicate with a pump device. In a first configuration, the first fluid channel is fluidically coupled to the third fluid channel, and the third fluid channel is fluidically coupled to the second fluid channel to prevent a flow of fluid from the third fluid channel into the first fluid channel. In a second configuration, the second fluid channel is fluidically coupled to the third fluid channel, and the third fluid channel is fluidically coupled to the first fluid channel to prevent a flow of fluid from the third fluid channel into the second fluid channel.

A fluid transfer device includes a body having a first connecting portion for connecting with a diluent container, and a second connecting portion for connecting with a medicament container. A first fluid channel extends into the first connecting portion, and a second fluid channel extends into the second connecting portion. A discharge duct is configured to connect to a discharge device. A flow control member is selectively fluidically connectable to the first and second fluid channels, the discharge duct, and a discharge channel. The flow control member is movably disposed in or on the body and is movable relative to the body between first and second control positions. In the first control position, the first and second fluid channels are in fluid communication. In the second control position, the discharge duct is in fluid communication with the discharge channel and the first fluid channel or the second fluid channel.

A holder for mounting a hand tool to a surface has a suction cup positionable upon a surface. A yoke is connected to a central area of the suction cup, and is movable in a vertical direction relative to the surface, to distort the suction cup to secure the suction cup and yoke to the surface. A frame includes a cradle shaped to receive and support the hand tool, and a base. An extension connects the base and the cradle. A cam pin is movable within the frame, and has a cam profile that slides along the cam engagement surface of the yoke to displace the yoke along a vertical axis to increase or decrease the pressure between the suction cup and the surface.

An antimicrobial light dressing device, system and method for a percutaneous treatment that bathes a treatment region around the percutaneous insertion with an antibacterial illumination source for preventing pathogens around the insertion from entering via the dermal puncture created by the insertion. The antimicrobial light dressing device combines a circumferential body centered around the insertion, and an arrangement of LEDs around the body that focus the light around the insertion and onto a therapeutic region of the insertion. An opening in the circumferential body has an articulated protrusion for offsetting a medicinal vessel such as an IV tube off the skin surface to avoid blocking light to an area under the vessel.

A uterine manipulator includes a cervical cup assembly having a cervical cup with an adjustable diameter to facilitate use of the uterine manipulator with patients having a wide range of cervical sizes. In embodiments, the cervical cup is formed from a plurality of slats that are connected to a base member by a living hinge. An actuator is positioned in relation to the cervical cup to move the slats towards or away from adjacent slats to vary the diameter of the cervical cup.

A system for removal of a tissue specimen from an internal body cavity includes a cannula arrangement having an access cannula including a first elongated tubular member, a deployment cannula including a second elongated tubular member configured for insertion into the first lumen, a deployment plunger including a proximal base and a plurality of engagement arms extending distally from the proximal base, and an inner cannula including a third elongated tubular member. The system further includes a containment bag selectively deployable from the cannula arrangement. Distal advancement of the deployment cannula relative to the access cannula deploys a first portion of the containment bag from the cannula arrangement, and distal advancement of the deployment plunger relative to the deployment cannula and the access cannula deploys a second portion of the containment bag from the cannula arrangement.

A pedal assembly for an exercise and rehabilitation device can include a disk having an axis of rotation. A central aperture can be formed in the disk along the axis. Spokes can extend radially from adjacent the central aperture toward a perimeter of the disk. The disk can be formed from a first material. In addition, a crank can be coupled to one of the spokes of the disk. The crank can have a hub concentric with the central aperture. Pedal apertures can extend along a radial length of the crank. The crank can be formed from a metallic material that differs from the first material. A pedal having a spindle can be interchangeably and releasably mounted to the pedal apertures in the crank.

An applicator instrument for dispensing surgical fasteners includes a housing, a firing system moveable along a first axis, a handle extending upwardly from the housing along a second axis that defines an acute angle with the first axis, the handle having an upper free end that defines a top of the applicator instrument, a trigger coupled with the housing for activating the firing system, and an elongated shaft extending from the distal end of the housing, the elongated shaft having a proximal shaft section extending along the first axis and a distal shaft section that is oriented at an angle relative to the proximal shaft section for extending upwardly toward the top of the applicator instrument. The trigger is squeezed for dispensing surgical fasteners from the distal end of the elongated shaft. The applicator instrument has at least one visual indicator for indicating a proper orientation for the applicator instrument in which the upper free end of the handle is positioned above the housing.
