A fan tray apparatus and method includes a mounting body portion having a length and a width. The mounting body portion further includes first and second longitudinal sides and first and second lateral sides. A plurality of fans is operatively attached to the mounting body portion. The plurality of fans includes a first set of fans, a second set of fans, and a third set of fans. The first set of fans is positioned along the first lateral side. The second set of fans is positioned along the second lateral side. The third set of fans is positioned between the first set of fans and the second set of fans, the third set of fans positioned on a middle portion of mounting body portion.

Fan tray apparatus and method

An apparatus and method for providing redundant power and redundant fan speed control to a plurality of fans is provided. A first power supply input is electrically connected to a second power supply input to provide a combined power supply input. First and second fan speed controllers each having an input and an output are provided, along with first and second power converters each having an input and an output. The combined power supply input is electrically connected to the input of the first fan speed controller and the input of the first power converter. The combined power supply input is also electrically connected to the input of the second fan speed controller and the input of the second power converter. The output of the first fan speed controller is electrically combined with the output of the second fan speed controller to provide a combined fan speed control signal. The combined fan speed control signal is electrically connected to the plurality of fans. The output of the first power converter is electrically combined with the output of the second power converter to provide a combined fan voltage. The combined fan voltage is electrically connected to the plurality of fans.

A laminated filter apparatus for reducing electromagnetic interference includes a first conductor having a first side and a second side. The laminated filter apparatus also includes a second conductor having a first side and a second side. A first insulative member is positioned between the first conductor and the second conductor and contacts the second side of the first conductor and the first side of the second conductor. A second insulative member includes a first side and a second side, the second side of the second insulative member contacts the first side of the first conductor. A third insulative member includes a first side and a second side, the first side of the third insulative member contacts the second side of the second conductor. A third conductor contacts the first side of the second insulative member and the second side of the third insulative member.

Laminated filter apparatus and method for reducing electromagnetic interference

An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding apparatus includes at least one power filter module having a power filter mounted within a housing. The power filter module includes a plurality of input terminals extending outward from a front wall of the housing and a plurality of output cables extending from a side wall of the housing and oriented perpendicular from the front wall. A chassis houses at least one circuit board and includes at least one input terminal opening formed therein to receive the input terminals. The input terminals extend outward from the chassis to allow the power cables to attach to the input terminals. The chassis is in contact with the front wall to prevent EMI emissions from exiting the chassis through the input terminals.

Electromagnetic interference shielding filter apparatus and method

An apparatus for mounting a transition connector and a telephone connector back-to-back on circuit board is provided. A circuit board is adapted for placement in an electronic chassis and includes a front side and a back side. A transition connector is operatively connected to the front side of the circuit board. The transition connector includes a plurality of spaced apart pins arranged in a first row and a second opposing row. The first row is spaced apart from the second row a first distance. A telephone connector is operatively connected to the back side of the circuit board opposite the transition connector. The telephone connector includes a plurality of spaced apart pins arranged in a first line and a second opposing line. The first line is spaced apart from the second line a second distance. The first distance is greater than the second distance. The first and second lines are positioned between the first and second rows. The pins of the first row are operatively connected to the pins of the first line, and the pins of the second row are operatively connected to the pins of the second line.

Apparatus and method for mounting a transition connector and a telephone

An apparatus for housing fans includes a mounting body portion and first, second and third fan housings. The mounting body portion has a length, and includes first and second longitudinal sides. The fan housings are operably attached to the mounting body portion. The fan housings also have a length. The sum of the lengths of the fan housings are greater than the length of the mounting body portion. The fan housings include a cable trough. Each of the cable troughs are oriented adjacent to a region of the mounting body portion bounded by each of the fan housings.
