A device may include a processor configured to collect historical location data for a user equipment (UE) device associated with a user and determine a movement pattern for the user based on the collected historical location data. The processor may be further configured to obtain current location data for the UE device over a time period; determine a mobility score for the user for the time period based on the determined movement pattern and the obtained current location data, wherein the mobility score is associated with the user's movements during the time period with respect to the determined movement pattern for the user; and provide the determined mobility score for the user to another device configured to adjust one or more parameters of a radio access network (RAN) associated with the UE device based on the determined mobility score.

Systems and methods to improve network performance in wireless networks using user mobility patterns

The present disclosure generally discloses an autonomous localization capability configured to determine the localization of a mobile device of a wireless communication network based on a sequence of observations reported by the mobile device and a model that represents the motion and observations of mobile devices of the wireless communication network. The model that represents the motion and observations of the mobile devices may be a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) constructed based on use of localization information to define the hidden states of the and use of signal strength measurement reporting information to define possible observations. The localization problem for determining a localization of a given mobile device then becomes a maximum a posterior problem represented by the HMM, which may be solved using a particle filter based localization algorithm using localization probability distribution information which may be determined based on signal strength measurement reporting information.

Autonomous localization in wireless networks

A base station schedules one or more user equipment of a plurality of user equipment for wireless communication in a transmission time interval (TTI) based on a plurality of weights associated with the plurality of user equipment. In response to scheduling the one or more user equipment in the TTI, the base station modifies the plurality of weights associated with the plurality of user equipment based on a plurality of elapsed times since the plurality of user equipment were last scheduled.

The present invention provides a method of scheduling guaranteed bit rate and/or maximum bit rate applications. Embodiments of the method may include setting, for a mobile node during a time interval, a first weight equal to a sum of a previous first weight associated with the mobile node during a previous time interval and a correction factor that is a linear function of a difference between a first bit rate and an indication of a throughput of the mobile node. Embodiments of the method may also include scheduling communication with the mobile node based on the first weight.
