A process is presented for the production of butadienes. The process includes the separation of oxygenates from the product stream from an oxidative dehydrogenation reactor. The process includes quenching the product stream and solvent and oxygenates from the product stream. The oxygenates are stripped from the solvent with an inert gas to reduce the energy consumption of the process, and the solvent is recycled and reused in the process.

Processes for producing jet-range hydrocarbons includes splitting a renewable olefin feedstock comprising Cto Colefins into a plurality of streams and passing each stream to an oligomerization reactor containing a zeolite catalyst to produce an oligomerized effluent. Processes for the disproportionation and isomerization of a Chydrocarbon feed using a liquid catalyst comprising an ionic liquid and a halocarbon carbocation promoter are described. The ionic liquid is unsupported, and the reactions occur at temperatures below about 200&#xb0; C.

Catalytic isomerization of pentane using ionic liquids

Processes for the disproportionation and isomerization of a hydrocarbon feed using a liquid catalyst comprising an ionic liquid and a carbocation promoter are described. The ionic liquid is unsupported, and the reactions occur at temperatures below the decomposition temperature of the ionic liquid, typically below about 250&#xb0; C. The process includes isomerizing a hydrocarbon feed comprising normal Calkane or branched Calkane by contacting the hydrocarbon feed with a liquid catalyst in a reaction zone to form a product mixture. Isomerization reaction mixtures are also described.

Catalytic isomerization of hexanes using ionic liquids

One exemplary embodiment can be a process for treating an interior of equipment for an isomerization unit. Generally, the isomerization unit includes at least one of a drying zone, an isomerization reaction zone, and a stabilizer zone, for receiving a feed stream. Usually, the feed stream includes one or more C4-C8 hydrocarbons. The process can include combining an anhydrous hydrogen stream and anhydrous organic chloride stream to form a hydrogen chloride feedstock, and passing the hydrogen chloride feedstock to a reaction zone containing a catalyst including at least one of nickel, palladium, and platinum on an alumina support to form a hydrogen chloride stream, and passing the hydrogen chloride stream upstream of the isomerization reaction zone.

Treatment process for an isomerization unit

The service life and deactivation rate of a reforming catalyst is improved through use of a new sulfur guard bed containing a chloride additive. This sulfur guard bed, which contains supported CuO material having an increased resistance to reduction, shows such improvement. Thus, the danger of run-away reduction followed by a massive release of water causing process upsets in a catalytic reforming process is practically eliminated. The fact that the guard bed material preserves the active metal phase&#x2014;copper in an active (oxide) form is an important advantage leading to very low sulfur content in the product stream. The sulfur capacity per unit weight of sorbent is also significantly increased, making this sorbent a superior cost effective sulfur guard product.

Middle distillate petroleum streams are hydrotreated to produce a low sulfur and low aromatic product in a process employing two reaction zones in series. The effluent of the first reaction zone is purged of hydrogen sulfide by hydrogen stripping and then reheated by indirect heat exchange. The second reaction zone employs a sulfur-sensitive noble metal hydrogenation catalyst. Operating pressure and space velocity increase and temperature decreases from the first to second reaction zones.
