A method of routing a payment transaction includes receiving a transaction request message. The message includes a payment token that was previously issued to an account holder. The payment token is translated into a funding account indicator. The funding account indicator is in a format defined for payment card account numbers in a payment account system. The funding account indicator is translated into a bank account number. The bank account number identifies a bank deposit account owned by the account holder. An EFT message is transmitted to initiate an EFT transaction to be funded from the bank deposit account owned by the account holder. The EFT message includes the bank account number.

System and method of tokenizing deposit account numbers for use at payment card acceptance point

A message routing and pre-processing (MRP) computing device is described herein. The MRP computing device is configured to receive an authorization request message associated with a transaction initiated by a cardholder with a merchant, the authorization request message including authorization parameters of the transaction, and retrieve a plurality of potential authorization routes for the authorization request message. Each potential authorization route includes routing parameters and is associated with a respective transaction processing network (TPN). The MRP computing device is also configured to compare the authorization parameters to the routing parameters of each potential authorization route to determine an optimized authorization route for the authorization request message. The optimized authorization route includes routing parameters that most closely match the authorization parameters. The optimized authorization route is associated with a first TPN. The MRP computing device is further configured to route the authorization request message to the first TPN for authorization processing.

Systems and methods for pre-processing network messages to optimize routing

Systems and methods are provided for use in distributing one or more services to edge devices in a payment network. One exemplary method includes receiving, at an edge device, an authorization request related to a payment account from a customer, identifying at least one service associated with the request and/or the payment account, and performing said at least one service, at the edge device. The exemplary method further includes transmitting the authorization request to an issuer associated with the payment account, and transmitting an authorization reply, generated by the issuer, to the customer, whereby the at least one service is distributed to the edge device.

Systems and methods for distributing payment network services

Methods and systems for translating account data from a converted account portfolio during a transaction initiated by a cardholder using a payment card are provided. The method may be implemented using a translation service computing device. The method includes storing first account data in a memory along with a corresponding translation identifier, the first account data associated with a first payment processing network (PPN), and receiving, at the TS computing device, an authorization request message. The authorization request message includes transaction data associated with the transaction and second account data, including the translation identifier, associated with the payment card and a second PPN. The method includes translating the second account data to the first account data by performing a lookup using the translation identifier, generating a translated authorization request message including the transaction data and the first account data, and transmitting the translated authorization request message to an issuer bank.

Systems and methods for converting account portfolios from one processing network to another

A method includes receiving transaction information at a mobile device from a merchant device. The transaction information includes a transaction amount and merchant information that identifies a merchant that operates the merchant device. The method further includes generating a funds transfer request in the mobile device. The funds transfer request includes the merchant information, information that indicates the transaction amount and information that identifies a customer of the merchant. The funds transfer request is for requesting that funds be transferred from a payment card account that belongs to the customer to a payment card account that belongs to the merchant. The method also includes transmitting, from the mobile device, the funds transfer request, to a financial institution that issued the customer's payment card account.

System for personalized payments via mobile devices

A payment system receives, from a first financial institution, a request for a funds transfer. The request originates from a sender who has an account with the first financial institution. The payment system routes the funds transfer to a second financial institution for the benefit of a recipient. The payment system receives, from the second financial institution, the recipient's name and residential address.

Payment card based remittance methods and system

A mobile device includes an antenna and at least one control device coupled to the antenna. The at least one control device is selectively operable in a first mode and in a second mode. In the first mode, the at least one control device transmits a payment card account number via the antenna to a point of sale terminal. In the second mode, the at least one control device transmits a message to the point of sale terminal via the antenna to request that the point of sale terminal download transaction information to the mobile device.
