Systems and methods for providing recording as a network service are provided. A representative method incorporates: communicating instructions to a network, the instructions indicating that IP packets associated with a communication that is to be recorded are to be directed to long term storage such that the network: receives the instructions; determines whether Internet Protocol (IP) packets, which are being communicated by the network, are associated with a communication that is to be recorded; and directs information corresponding to the IP packets associated with the communication to a long term storage device.

In addition, embodiment of a method includes receiving an indication related to recording data stored on a local cache and determining whether to remotely store at least a portion of the data. Some embodiments include sending a request for the stored data.

Distributive network control

Systems and methods for capturing communication signals are provided. An exemplary method comprises the steps of: installing a first type of tapping devices to obtain 32-bit communication signals; installing a recording system that is coupled to the first type of tapping devices; receiving the 32-bit communication signals from the first type of tapping devices via the recording system; responsive to receiving the 32-bit communication signals, converting the 32-bit communication signals into an 128-bit communication format via the recording system; and recording the converted 128-bit communication signals via the recording system.

At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving an indication of a communications session, wherein the communication session is associated with screen data and determining screen data to capture. Distributive data capture

Systems and methods for providing recording of communications are provided. A representative method incorporates: providing recording as a service on a network such that: the network determines whether Internet Protocol (IP) packets, which are being communicated by the network, are associated with a communication that is to be recorded and the network directs information corresponding to the IP packets associated with the communication to a long term storage device.

At least one contact between at least one server and at least one user is archived. The contact includes a recorded interaction between the user and the server, e.g., a recorded interaction between a customer and a customer service agent via the server. The contact is associated with a contact folder in a local storage. A portion of the contact is selected to be archived, and the time to archive the selected portion is determined. The selected portion of the contact is archived in an extended storage at the determined time. Archiving includes copying at least the content from the associated contact folder in the local storage and forwarding at least the copied content to an extended storage. A portion of the archived contact or the entire archived contact may be restored by determining that the contact is archived and retrieving the contact or the portion of the contact from the extended storage.

Systems and methods for capturing multimedia communication signals

Recording resources are selectively dedicated for recording data exchanged between entities attached to a network including at least one agent in an enterprise, a user, and a server connected to the agent and the user. At least one interconnection point is selected among interconnection points in the network including one or more points between the user and the server, between the server and a data distributor connected to the user and the agent, and between the agent and the server for recording the exchanged data. Recording resources are dedicated to the selected interconnection point for recording the exchanged data based on an objective for recording the data.
