A disposable sterile cover for a contoured handle of a surgical lighting fixture, which is formed from a thin-walled flexible material and shaped to match the configuration of the contoured handle. The sterile disposable cover is fitted around the contoured handle in order to prevent the hands of surgical personnel from directly touching the handle when moving and/or focusing the lighting fixture during surgery. The cover includes a flange portion and an elongated, cylindrically-shaped, hollow grip portion. The grip portion has a plurality of elongated expandable channels formed therein, which facilitate fitting the cover over the contoured handle. The disposable cover may be used with contoured handles having different configurations. In an alternative embodiment, a length of tape, having pressure sensitive adhesive applied thereto, is attached to the disposable cover, and may be wrapped around the cover for the purpose of securing the cover to the handle. In another embodiment, a rigid or semi-rigid flange is attached to the upper surface of the cover flange. In yet another embodiment, one or more apertures may be provided in a surgical light handle for the purpose of venting trapped air from inside a cover, being fitted over the handle, into the interior of the hollow handle.

Needle counter container

A disposable sterile cover for a contoured handle of surgical lighting fixture, which is formed from a thin-walled flexible material and shaped to match the configuration of the contoured handle. The sterile disposable cover is fitted around the contoured handle in order to prevent the hands of surgical personnel from directly touching the handle when moving and/or focusing the lighting fixture during surgery. The cover includes a flange portion and an elongated, cylindrically-shaped, hollow grip portion. Handle for use with a disposable cover

A medical instrument holder and sharps disposal device is disclosed wherein a pair of plastic container body halves are provided to be manipulated between opened and closed positions by associated hinge means and a mechanical lock. A medical instrument rest in the form of a one piece molded plastic insert is provided on one of the body halves for positioning medical instruments thereon when the container is in its open position. A cushion of reticulated foam material is provided to receive and envelope the tips of sharps associated with the instruments laid upon the rest. Sharps removal means are provided for assisting in the release of medical instrument sharps from the associated medical instruments. A magnetic means is also provided within one of the container body halves for receiving and holding such removed sharps to facilitate the counting a subsequent disposal thereof within the container when a medical operation has been completed and the sharps and container are to be discarded.

Disposable handle for a hospital surgery room light fixture or the like

A sterilizable multi-part handle for attachment to a handle receiving fitting of a hospital surgery room light fixture is made of light weight, inexpensive molded plastic parts which are disposable after use, the handle including a handle body having a body grip portion and a threaded head portion to engage the fixture fitting and a disc separate from the handle which is provided with a central aperture via which the disc is assembled to the handle in a snap on fit connection between the handle body and disc. The exemplary connecting means includes a plurality of detents provided on the inner periphery of the disc aperture which snap into and seat within a disc receiving groove provided in the handle body head portion adjacent a disc seating flange against which the disc seats when the handle is turned into tight engagement with the associated light fixture fitting. A sterilized kit of handle parts is disclosed wherein a pair of nested handle bodies seat in side by side relation upon a pair of stacked disc with a retainer strap thereabout to hold the array in such preassembled compact relation within a sterilized peel back type package.

Multi-part disposable handle for hospital surgery room light fixture

A rigid, disposable container for safety containing and disposing of medical-surgical materials, including needles, syringes, scalpels and dressings after use, comprises five, lightweight plastic pieces which snap together without tools to form a closed container having a one-way barrier at a larger opening for the insertion of used materials therethrough, which barrier can be removed if desired, and additional apertures having sharps-removing features molded therein to permit the simultaneous removal of sharps from associated devices and their disposal therethrough. A flush, lockable, sliding cover is provided on the container to close the disposal openings against passage of macroscopic material either partially during use or completely before disposal.

Rigid disposable container for holding and dispensing of used medical

An inexpensive, foldup container for holding and disposing of used medical materials is die-stamped from a single piece of cardboard material and crimped along a plurality of lines to define a plurality of rectangular panels hingably-attached to one another which fold together to form a rectangular carton having an aperture in the top guarded by a barrier flap which permits the one-way disposal of used medical materials, such as disposable sharps and dressings, and further includes a hinged cover which can be locked shut over the disposal opening to retain the contents within the container and to resist tampering during the disposal process. The container may be provided in a partially assembled, flat configuration for storing and shipping.

Closable, disposable, foldup container for used medical materials

A sterile cover for the handle on a surgical light is comprised of an integrally formed disposable plastic sheath generally in the shape of a unibody hollow cylinder with either a hollow inverse conical-shaped member or a dish shaped member at an open end of the cylinder. An alternative embodiment of the invention relates to an adapter kit having an adapter bushing, an adapter handle for threaded or snap-on attachment to the stud on any of a variety of lighting fixtures and sterile covers to allow the covers to be used on light fixtures having different sizes of handle mounting studs.

A sterilizable support tray for medical instruments is disclosed comprising a block of sterilizable reticulated foam material having multiple parallel longitudinally-extending and laterally-extending slices which penetrate partially through the thickness of the foam block. In addition to a verticle component, at least one of the slices includes a horizontal component for defining a plane and creating a reduced cross-section partable web attaching multiple finger portions created by said slices to an unsliced base portion. The partable webs define a location and plane at which individual finger portions may be torn away from the base portion to define custom-shaped channels within which medical instruments may be positioned, stored, sterilized, and accounted for.

Sterilizable foam support tray for medical instruments

A surgical towel and drape clamp having opposed jaw members connected to and opened and closed by the action of pivotally interconnected shank members having finger loop members and locking ratchet members is provided with tip means on one of said jaw members having a blunt distal end portion, the other of said jaw members being provided with tip means having a concave distal end portion which has a peripheral blunt edge. Upon placing a surgical towel or surgical drape between the tip means of said jaw members and manipulating the finger loops to close the jaw members and bring the locking ratchets into interengagement with each other, the surgical towel or surgical drape is trapped between the blunt distal end portion of one of the tip means and the concave distal end portion of the other tip means. The blunt distal end portion of one of the tip means and the peripheral blunt edge of the concave distal end portion of the other tip means preclude any puncturing, abrading and cutting of the surgical towel or surgical drape by the clamping action of the present invention.

No-tear towel clamp

A hinged sterilizable disposable container for magnetizable surgical instruments which has relatively large upper and lower portions connected by sides of a relatively narrower dimension. A non-deformable outer case is provided for retaining the instruments entirely within the case and precluding any tendencies for said instruments to protrude from the case. Magnetic means are provided which completely cover the interior portion of the case and retain any magnetizable instruments placed within the case.
