A closure includes a panel closing against a frame. A set of abutment surfaces for supporting the panel against applied forces is completed by a displaceable abutment block which selectively assumes an engaged state disposed between an abutment surface of the panel and an abutment surface of a strike jamb. The geometry of engagement is such that forces acting on the abutment block opposing opening of the panel are primarily compressive forces. Certain implementations additionally, or alternatively, employ abutment blocks for locking along the lintel or the threshold of the opening.

There is provided an electromechanical actuator for a parking brake system of a vehicle, including an electric motor, reduction gear train associated with the motor for transmitting motion from the motor to a single power transmission chain sprocket, one power transmission chain section drivable by the sprocket partly encircling one sheave, rotatably mounted on a free longitudinally movable pulley block, an end of the power transmission chain being attached to a first stationary anchor point, and a connector connecting the pulley block to the vehicle's parking brake system.

Electromechanical parking brake

A method for producing a coil assembly includes overlaying printed circuit traces on a core. The traces include terminals for coupling to conductive connections on a base on which the coil assembly is to be mounted. Two or more wires are wrapped around the core so as to define two or more coils, wrapped in different, respective directions. The ends of the wires are coupled to the printed circuit traces, so as to connect the wires through the traces to the terminals.

A traction system for a vehicle has a support frame that defines a circular track belt support that is revolvable about an axis at its center, a flexible track belt; and a track belt stretching assembly comprising one or more track belt stretching rollers. The system has one traction configuration in which the flexible traction belt is held on said support track forming a substantially circular, wheel-like traction surface, and can change to a stretching state in which said rollers engage said belt and stretch it from its state in said one traction configuration to a stretched state to define one or more other traction configurations of the system.

Adaptable traction system of a vehicle

A traction system for a vehicle has a support frame that defines a circular track belt support that is revolvable about an axis at its center, a flexible track belt; and a track belt stretching assembly comprising one or more track belt stretching rollers. The system has one traction configuration in which the flexible traction belt is held on the support track forming a substantially circular, wheel-like traction surface, and can change to a stretching state in which the rollers engage the belt. In the stretched state, the rollers stretch the belt from its state in the one traction configuration to a stretched state to define one or more other traction configurations of the system.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a device and method for controlled positioning and/or releasing an object in a body lumen. The device of the invention comprises a liquid filled tube detachably connected to an injecting apparatus at its proximal end and to a holding and releasing unit having a bore configured to hold and release the object, at its distal end. The holding and releasing unit is connected to the tube such that liquid can pass from the tube into the holding and releasing unit bore. The distal end of the tube is capable of being inserted and maneuvered through a body lumen. The object is retained in the device during its manipulation through the body lumen due to frictional force exerted by the holding and releasing unit on the object. The object is released by activating the injecting apparatus to achieve an hydraulic pressure in the holding and releasing unit bore which is higher than the frictional force.

Device and method for positioning an object in a body lumen

The invention provides a device for securing the upper terminal position of a liftable and lowerable object, comprising cable means having a hoist-side end and an object-side end; a stationary bracket having an aperture disposed in a substantially horizontal plane; a housing supported by the object-side end of the cable means and carrying the object, the housing having a lower portion and an upper portion, at least the upper portion being configured to pass through the aperture, a first opening at the top of the upper portion and a second opening at the bottom of the lower portion facilitating the passage of the cable means through the housing, and two oppositely located, elongated slots extending along at least parts of the upper portion; lever means located inside, and extending through a substantial portion of, the housing, the lever means being pivotably mounted in the lower portion of the housing and being provided with catch means and camming means, the lever means having a first limit position in which the camming means protrudes through one of the elongated slots, and a second limit position in which said catch means protrudes through the other one of the elongated slots, and spring means adapted to act on the lever means and biasing the lever means towards the second limit position.

Load-securing device

A space partition having an inner volume for accommodating electrical wires and the like, and providing convenient access thereto. The space partition is generally formed by a framework having a pair of vertical members with a cross member connecting therebetween. The cross member includes a pair of connectors, each engaging one of the vertical members, and a linking element connecting the connectors to each other, the linking element including a pair of parallel rods. Features are provided for facilitating temporary removal of panels and covers of the space partition, thereby enabling easy access to the inner volume of the space partition.

Versatile modular office partitions

A framework for a space partition of the type used in dividing up an open space into individual offices which can be easily made of any desirable dimensions. The framework is made up of a pair of vertical members and a cross member connecting the vertical members. The cross member is, in turn, made up of a pair of connectors, each of which can engage one of the vertical members and which are connected to each other by a rod which is cut to a precise length so as to create a framework of a desired size.

A lifting device for cradle supported goods includes cradle engaging lifting arms pivoted to a wheeled chassis. A lever element located between one of the lift arms and the chassis is positioned by a winch and cable to raise the lift arms. An emergency stop block is provided in the event of cable breakage.

Lifting apparatus

A drip irrigation emitter is located in the wall (IV) of a flexible irrigation pipe. It contains a flow control chamber (15) which communicates with the pipe interior through a filter (II) and with the outside through an outlet passage (17) extending radially through the top portion (11). The chamber (15) is formed by two parallel side walls (20, 20'), a ribbed rear wall (22), and an arched front wall (21) which is incised along its center by a deep channel (23') merging with the arched portion (21) in the shape of two sloping banks (23'). The channel (23') merges at its upper end with the outlet passage (17). Control of the water outflow is made by a thin, rectangular and resilient plate (III) which fits and moves freely between the side walls and is pressed onto the arched front wall (21) by water pressure. Increasing pressure gradually urges the plate onto the banks (23') and into the channel (23'), thereby diminishing the throughflow cross-section and increasing flow resistance.

Lifting apparatus and a wheeled vehicle upon which it can be mounted. There is provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention lifting apparatus comprising a scissors mechanism including scissor arms having formed thereon a curved cam path, a cam disposed between the scissor arms for engagement therewith and selectable separation thereof for producing lifting motion thereof, a load support mounted onto the scissor arms and apparatus for selectably tilting the load support with respect to the scissors mechanism. There is further provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention a wheeled vehicle comprising a base and a plurality of wheel assemblies supporting the base on a generally horizontal surface, at least one of the plurality of wheel assemblies comprising a castor assembly including a wheel rotatably mounted on a wheel mounting and apparatus for connecting the wheel mounting to the base and defining first and second axes of rotation, and preferably wherein at least one of the plurality of wheel assemblies comprises a steering wheel rotatably mounted onto a wheel mounting and steerable apparatus rotatably coupling the wheel mounting onto the base and permitting steering over at least 180.degree. of arc.
