Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method of producing a customized spectacle lens. According to some exemplary embodiments, a method of producing a customized spectacle lens for use in a personalized viewing environment, e.g., a personalized short-distance viewing environment, a personalized long-distance viewing environment, or a personalized mixed-distance viewing environment, may include determining a personalized power profile of an intended user based on at least a far vision prescription of the user, a near vision prescription of the user, and customized values of a personalized gaze angle and a personalized distance of one or more control points in the viewing environment, the one or more control points corresponding to one or more objects in the viewing environment; and generating target surface data suitable for producing the customized spectacle lens based on the personalized power profile. Customized lens, and system and method of producing thereof

Some demonstrative embodiments of the invention include devices and/or methods of measuring a personalized lens-orientation value for a spectacle frame supporting a pair of lenses. The device, according to some demonstrative embodiments, may include a pair of orientation-measuring mechanisms, each mechanism adapted to measure a value corresponding to an orientation of a surface of a respective one of the lenses relative to a reference axis. The device may also include an adjustable positioning mechanism to adjust a distance between the pair of orientation-measuring mechanisms according to an inter-pupil distance of the user. Device and method of measuring a personalized lens-orientation value

An ophthalmic spectacle lens comprises a front surface; a back surface; a peripheral edge; and a vision correcting area having a refractive error correction for correcting refractive error of the eye, wherein the vision correcting area's refractive error correction is determined at least in part by a wave front analysis of the eye being corrected. A spectacle lens is disclosed. The disclosed lens provides a vision correcting area for the correction of a wearer's refractive error. The viewing correction area provides correction for non-conventional refractive error to provide at least a part of the wearer's vision correction. The lens has a prescription based on a wave front analysis of the wearer's eye and the lens can further be modified to fit within an eyeglass frame.
