A method for packing a chromatography column with chromatography media, comprising the steps of: providing a system comprising a column tube () having a closed first end () comprising an inlet/outlet (), a media inlet () adjacent a second end of the column tube and an adaptor () positioned inside the column tube initially adjacent the second end of the column tube for sliding and sealing contact with an inner face of the column tube, the column tube and adaptor arranged initially such that they define an internal volume and such that the media inlet is in fluid connection with the internal volume; connecting a media slurry source to the media inlet; at least partially filling the internal volume with media slurry via the media inlet; forcing the adaptor towards the first end of the column tube to reduce the internal volume such that the media inlet is no longer in fluid connection with the reduced internal volume.

Method and apparatus for packing a chromatography column assembly

Chromatography column comprising a column tube and at least one adjustable adapter assembly with a plunger that may be positioned at a plurality of longitudinal positions in the column tube, wherein the piston is arranged at the end of a threaded piston rod arranged with the threads engaged by a rotable end cap for enabling longitudinal movement of the piston by turning the end cap, and wherein the adaptor assembly comprises rotation prevention means arranged to prevent rotation of the plunger rod in response to turning of the end cap.

A pinch valve is adapted to hold at least one flexible tube in a tube holding room () and comprises a plunger () adapted to protrude into the tube holding room and pinch the tube against an opposite side wall () thereof. The plunger () is controllable to be positioned in at least two different positions, an open position where the tube in the tube holding room () is not pinched, and a pinching position where the tube is pinched between the plunger () and the opposing wall (). The pinch valve further comprises a tube retaining means () adapted to prevent the tube from escaping from the tube holding room (), especially when the plunger () is in the open position, and which can be pivoted into at least two different positions, a non locking position used during insertion of a tube into the tube holding room (), and a locking position for retaining a tube inside the tube holding room () even when the plunger is in an open position.

The invention relates to a flow cell for an ultrasonic flow meter comprising two transducers of ultrasonic waves wherein the two transducers are reversibly detachable from the flow cell. The flow cell with the transducers detached is sterilisable and is particularly suitable for use in disposable or single-use systems.
