A vehicle component includes a polymeric material, a first filler, and a second filler. The polymeric material can be present at a concentration of at least about 35% by weight of the vehicle component. The first filler can be a carbon-containing filler dispersed within the polymeric material. The carbon-containing filler can be present at a concentration of at least about 20% by weight of the vehicle component. The second filler includes a substrate and carbon nanotubes. The carbon nanotubes extend from a surface of the substrate.

Electrically conductive, polymeric vehicle component

A vehicle display screen mounting assembly includes an instrument panel and a display screen coupled to a casing. The casing includes a protrusion extending from a back surface of the casing towards the instrument panel. A bushing is positioned within a receiving channel defined by the protrusion. An attachment feature is coupled to the protrusion of the casing and is coupled to the instrumental panel via a bracket.

Display screen mounting assembly

A method of forming a cross-car beam is provided. A composite is melted to form a viscous polymer. The polymer is injected into a mold. Pressurized fluid is injected into the mold to evacuate a portion of the viscous polymer from the mold and to form a channel therethrough. The remaining viscous polymer is cooled within the mold to form a cross-car beam.

Water-assisted injection molded cross-car beam

A vehicle instrument panel assembly includes a display screen positioned within a housing, wherein the housing includes first and second protrusions. The vehicle instrument panel assembly includes a cross-car beam and a first bracket coupled to the cross-car beam. A second bracket is coupled to the first bracket and the first and second protrusions.

An assembly includes a display screen, a bracket for receiving and holding the display screen, a deformable mounting feature and a frangible mounting feature. The deformable mounting feature is adapted to absorb initial energy in the event of an impact to the display screen. The frangible mounting feature is adapted to further dissipate energy to the extent that the impact energy exceeds the ability of the deformable mounting feature to absorb it.

Display screen assembly

A cross-car beam is provided herein. The cross-car beam includes a composite elongated panel extending across a vehicle. A bracket is operably coupled with an elongated panel. An attachment feature and a cowl attachment structure are each integrally formed with the bracket and are disposed at opposing end portions of the bracket.

Vehicle cross-car beam

A vehicle includes a body, a bumper and a plurality of self-tapping fasteners. The body defines mounting orifices. The bumper has an exterior shell that includes an interior wall. The interior wall has receiving portions that protrude inward relative to the shell such that the receiving portions are thicker than adjacent portions of the interior wall. Each of the plurality of self-tapping fasteners extend through one of the orifices and into one of the receiving portions to secure the bumper to the body.

Vehicle and vehicle bumper

A cross car beam for a vehicle having a molded base, a molded steering column structure attached to the forward side of the driver's side of the molded base, and a molded driver side structure attached to the rearward side of the driver's side of the molded base. One of the molded base, the molded steering column structure, and the molded driver side structure is composed of a polymer or a blend of polymers reinforced with fibers to provide strength. An optional tensile member such as a steel tube is attached to the molded base. The tensile member is composed of a metal or a reinforced polymerized material. One of the molded base, the molded steering column structure, and the molded driver side structure may include a class A surface. Alternatively or in addition a class A part may be attached to one of these structures.
