A method for controlling a wheel axle assembly of a vehicle. The vehicle comprises a vehicle body with a longitudinal axis extending in a longitudinal direction, a transversal axis extending in a transversal direction and a vertical axis extending in a vertical direction. The longitudinal axis, the transversal axis and the vertical axis are perpendicular to each other. The longitudinal direction corresponds to an intended direction of travel of the vehicle and the vertical direction being parallel to a vertical line when the vehicle is positioned on a flat horizontally extending surface. The vehicle body comprises a vehicle body centre plane extending along the longitudinal axis and the vertical axis and separating the vehicle body into two body halves.

Method for controlling a wheel axle assembly

An adjuster assembly for compensating for brake lining wear in a brake unit. The brake unit has a housing for accommodating the adjuster assembly, a brake lever journalled to the housing, and a force transmitter for transmitting displacement of the brake lever to at least one brake lining. The adjuster assembly includes a support shaft, sensing means for cooperation with the brake lever, a drive ring assembly cooperating with the sensor, and an adjuster gear. The adjuster gear cooperates with the drive ring assembly. To prevent unwanted release of the adjuster assembly, the engagement surface is provided with rotation a rotation preventer adapted for releasable engagement with engagement member cooperating with the housing for preventing rotation of the transmission ring assembly in one direction.

Methods are disclosed for regulating the braking torque generated by the braking system of a vehicle which include a friction lining, a brake surface, an actuator for displacing the friction lining by means of a medium towards he brake surface with a predetermined brake pressure in order to generate the brake torque, the method including restricting the predetermined brake pressure below a maximum brake pressure for the speed of the vehicle only when the actuator is actuated when the vehicle is traveling at a speed below a predetermined speed. Apparatus is also disclosed for carrying out the method.

Brake systems are disclosed for use in motor vehicles comprising a brake cylinder including a push rod, a brake key for activating a wheel brake on the motor vehicle, a braking lever having a first end for connection to the brake key and a second end for connection to the push rod, and a mount affixed to the push rod between the brake cylinder and the end of the push rod, the mount including a predetermined shape such as a pin and the braking lever including a predetermined shape such as an aperture so that the mount can be coupled to the push rod at a location between the brake cylinder and the end of the push rod by attaching the pin to the aperture. Methods for mounting brake systems in motor vehicles are also disclosed.

Arrangement for disc brakes used on motor vehicles, comprising a tappet assembly (,), movable inside the caliper (,) and which, through an axial movement along its longitudinal axis relative to the caliper, can be changed from an active position and a passive position. A regulating device can, through a rotating movement of a tappet extension which is part of the tappet, move an end part of the tappet in an adjustment movement to compensate for changes in the tappet stroke. The tappet comprises a first tappet assembly (,) which is movable axially in the caliper (,) along its longitudinal axis (,) for braking movements, and which is rotatable along its longitudinal axis for adjustment movements. An indication means in a brake cylinder for a vehicle brake with a spring activated parking brake in which the brake cylinder comprises a cylinder housing (3) with a casing wall (22) and at least one gable (23). A pressure spring (5) is positioned between the piston (4) and the gable (23) of the cylinder housing for activating the parking brake by mechanically influencing the piston (4) of the brake cylinder. A bar (11) is axially displaceable relative to the release screw (1) in the throughbore (34) in the release screw (1). The bar (11) at a first end, within the cylinder housing (3), has a position sensing body (8, 16) which is axially fixed to the bar (11) and provided with a contact surface (40) for contact against the nut (7). At a second end the bar (11) has an indication body (12) which visibly protrudes out of the screw head (36) of the release screw (1) in case of axial displacement of the bar (11). This occurs due to axial displacement of the nut (7) from its outer end position, and of the contact surface (40) of the position sensing body (8, 16), which surface is in contact with the nut during rotation of the release screw (1) for mechanical release of the parking brake.
