A money handling unit provided with a removable coin receptacle consisting of a fixed structure includes a housing () and a trap () for accessing into the box internal space movable between an open position and a closed position and a receptacle () insertable into the trap () and forming a reception structure, wherein the receptacle () has an orifice () for inserting coins and a closing shutter () movable between an open position in which the orifice () is accessible and a closing position in which the orifice () is closed. The inventive receptacle has actuating elements () for closing shutter () and the housing () has guiding members () interacting with the actuating elements () in such a way that the movement of the movable shutter is linked to the movement of the access trap ().

A method for monitoring a number of terminals, particularly parking meters, in which at least first and second adjacent terminals are able to communicate with each other and with a monitoring center, comprises a monitoring protocol according to which the first and second terminals must call each other and, if no call and/or reply is received from the second terminal, the first terminal calls the monitoring center to inform it of an abnormal situation concerning the second terminal.
