An improved feather board apparatus and method are provided, for use in holding a work piece against a guide surface as the work piece is guided in a feed direction, and for precluding motion of the work piece in a direction opposite the feed direction, through use of a feather board apparatus, having a feather board clamping arrangement which allows for limited amount of pivoting of the feather board about an in feed side clamping point, as the work piece is fed past the feather board.

Feather board apparatus and method

A method and apparatus are provided, for positioning a work piece, such as a piece of crown molding, through use of an apparatus including a work piece support plate pivotably attached along a pivot axis to a base. The base is adapted to rest on a horizontal reference plane, such as the table of a meter saw, for pivoting motion of the support plate about the pivot axis to a desired angle with respect to the base, while the pivot axis is simultaneously positioned to extend substantially parallel to a longitudinal line of intersection between a horizontal and a vertical reference plane, established by the table and fence of the meter saw, to hold the work piece at a desired tilt angle with respect to the vertical reference plane, so that the work piece may be cut in substantially the same orientation as it will be mounted.

Crown molding cutting apparatus and method

A blade changing tool for changing a blade for saws, particular table saws, is provided. The tool includes a body having a face that includes at least one recess for receiving and engaging a saw blade. Typically, the face will include a plurality of axially offset recesses resulting in a stepped face. A blade face abutment surface and a riser extending therefrom combine to form the recesses. The risers may be concave in shape giving the recesses a circular segment shape. The body also includes at least one blade engaging catch that engages teeth of the blade to prevent rotational movement of the blade while it is being loosened or tightened. The tool may be free of undercuts to facilitate straight-pull molding. Also, the stepped face may be an external face to facilitate visually inspecting the engagement between the blade and the tool.

Saw blade changing tool

A kit for forming mortises in door edges and door frames for flush-mounting door hinges, strike plates and latch plates is provided. The kit generally includes a template holder and a plurality of templates mountable to the template holder. The templates provide guides for various size hinges, strike plates or latch plates. The template holder includes an adjustment mechanism for easily adapting the template holder from doors having a first thickness to doors having a second thickness. The adjustment mechanisms include a rotatable cam and knob. The kit may optionally include an alignment schedule providing distances for locating the templates relative to a door end or a frame. Further, the templates may include tab engagement slots for engaging a tape measure.

Hinge and strike plate mortise kit

An adjustable marking and measuring tool including a locating block and a guide block is provided. The locating block includes a pair of abutments for locating the tool in the corner of a jamb. The guide block includes a miter guide line edge for locating a guide line for longitudinally locating a piece of trim. The guide block includes a reveal guide line edge for marking the offset of the trim from an opening defined by the jamb. The position of the guide block relative to the locating block is adjustable for adjusting the amount of reveal identified by the tool. The tool may further include an engagement portion for engaging a mitered end of a trim piece. Further, the tool may include an upstanding abutment member to locate the guide block relative to a piece of trim for marking a miter line across the trim piece.

Casing measurement and marking tool

An angle drive attachment having an adjustable handle is provided. The angle drive includes an input shaft, an input shaft housing, a transmission, a handle mount, a handle, and an output socket. The handle allows the angle drive attachment to be adaptable to working environments having limited space or odd configurations. The input shaft rotates about the input axis of rotation and carried by the input shaft housing and drives the transmission. The output socket is connected to the transmission and rotates about an output axis of rotation and connects to a working bit. The handle mount mounts the handle to the input shaft housing. The handle, in cooperation with the handle mount, may be rotated about the input shaft housing, angled relative to the input shaft housing, and positioned axially linear along the input shaft housing.

Angle drive attachment

An apparatus and/or method for hanging a door in an associated frame are provided, through the use of one or more templates and/or guide devices including elements and features which facilitate proper positioning of mortises and/or holes in the door and door frame, for hinge and lock-set hardware.
