A parasitic cleaning system for cleaning the reflective surfaces of a heliostat is disclosed. The system includes a blade carriage assembly that cleans the surface by imparting a frictional force as the carriage assembly moves across the surface to be cleaned. A cleaner drive system controls the motion of the blade carriage assembly over the surface. A guide system connects the cleaner drive system to the blade carriage assembly. The cleaner drive system applies a spring force to move the blade carriage assembly upwardly. The same spring system controls the lowering of the blade assembly over the surface to be cleaned.

Device and method for automatically dry cleaning reflective panels

A mechanical device for cleaning a reflective glass surface is described. In one example, the glass surface is a heliostat mirror. The device includes a cleaning head and a blade assembly. In one example, the cleaning head includes an elongated base member and having a cleaning pad. The cleaning blade assembly includes a cleaning blade. The blade is mounted to the base member and is moveable between a first engaged position that causes the blade of the blade assembly to come into contact with the reflective glass surface and a second disengaged position that causes the blade of the blade assembly to come out of contact with the glass surface. A method of cleaning a glass surface is also disclosed.

Heliostat cleaning tool and method

A building cleaning system for cleaning a side of a building can include an elongate brush structure that is rotated by an electric motor, a frame for supporting the brush structure that can be oriented to face toward the side of the building, and a plurality of air moving devices mounted to the frame for generating counterforce to force the frame toward the building. The air moving devices can including fans or blowers. The air moving devices can be being spaced apart from one another in an orientation that extends along the length of the frame. A lift arrangement can be provided for moving the frame along the side of the building.

Method for cleaning surfaces

A system and method for cleaning surfaces is disclosed. The system includes an elongated blade configured to remove at least one of dirt, dust, debris and film from a smooth surface. A drive system is provided for causing the blade to contact the entire smooth surface, thereby removing at least a portion of at least one of dirt, dust, debris, and film. A cleaning device automatically cleans the blade before and after the blade is cleaning the smooth surface. In one example, system is part of a heliostat system for use in a solar collection field as part of a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant.

System and method for cleaning surfaces

A cleaning apparatus and method for cleaning generally upright surfaces, walls and windows of a building has a frame rotatably supporting one or more brushes adapted to engage the upright surface of a building. A davit supported on top of the building is connected to a cable pendently supporting the frame and brushes. A winch driven with a motor mounted on the frame operably connected to the cable operates to move the frame and brushes relative to the upright surface. A counterforce generator mounted on the frame establishes a force on the frame and brushes that maintains the brushes in effective continuous engagement with the upright surface during cleaning thereof.

A cleaning system for cleaning a surface comprising: a frame for the cleaning system; a liquid supply source; a liquid applicator; and at least one thruster on the frame to provide force against the frame to maintain support with the surface to be cleaned. A washing system for an elevated surface has a) a housing having a liquid application cleaning system therein; b) a support element that supports and elevates the washing system; c) a rigid member extending from a surface of the housing that faces away from a surface to be cleaned so that the cable, when supporting the cleaning system against the surface to be cleaned and connected to the housing at a connection point, exerts a rotational force on the cleaning system in relation to the fixed fulcrum at the roof top; and d) weights provided at a distance and direction from the connection point fulcrum to at least in part counterbalance the rotational force.

Automated cleaning system for structures

An apparatus for painting a surface, having an absorbent paint applicator containing paint and contacting the surface; a tube filled with paint and connected to the applicator; and a metering device for incrementally metering paint onto the applicator from the tube. The metering device has a plunger reciprocating within the tube, with the plunger having a handle. The plunger can either be incrementally advanced within the tube by rotating the handle, thereby incrementally dispensing paint onto the applicator, or the plunger can be manually retracted within the tube to fill the tube with paint and manually advanced within the tube to dispense the paint. The plunger is helically grooved along its length and a converter translates rotation of the handle into linear motion of the plunger, thereby advancing the plunger within the tube.

An unloader valve for a high pressure pumping system is disclosed. The unloader valve diverts fluid back to the pump inlet when the discharge line is blocked, and directs flow to the pump outlet when the line is unblocked. The unloader valve includes a valve body with a central cavity, a bypass check valve which also functions as a pressure relief valve, a shuttle positioned in the central cavity and a discharge check valve. A spring in the bypass check valve holds the bypass check valve closed while the system is in the spray mode. The discharge check valve closes when the line is blocked, and the line pressure is trapped between the discharge check valve and the spray gun. When the gun is reactivated, the pressure trapped behind the discharge check valve moves the shuttle forward, which opens the bypass valve.

A low profile positive displacement pump system is disclosed. The pump system includes a gasoline powered engine with a vertically disposed crank shaft. The system also includes a piston pump with at least one horizontally disposed piston, and a pump shaft assembly which mounts onto the crank shaft. A base includes a cavity configured for retaining the pump. The engine mounts directly onto the base, and fixes the orientation of the pump shaft assembly with respect to a driven end of each piston. The pump shaft assembly includes at least one eccentric camming surface for contacting a driven end of the piston and for causing each piston to complete one stroke per revolution of shaft rotation. The base comprises a main body including an upper surface, wherein the upper surface is suitable for mounting directly to a mounting flange of the gasoline powered engine.

The present invention relates to a thermal relief valve that includes a main body with an inner annular surface that includes a shoulder proximal to one end of the main body. The relief valve also includes a spring that rests on the shoulder of the inner annular surface of the main body. The relief valve additionally includes a thermal actuator component with a cup section and a piston section attached to the cup section. The cup section is separated from the piston section by a shoulder. The shoulder rests upon the spring. The relief valve also includes an O-ring that rests upon the shoulder of the thermal actuator and a cap that rests upon an O-ring within the main body of the relief valve.
