Embodiments of the present invention are related to an electrode for a plasma arc torch, the electrode comprising a generally tubular outer wall, an end wall, and a protrusion. The end wall is joined to a distal end of the outer wall and supports an emissive element in a generally central region. The protrusion extends from the generally central region of the end wall and is configured to connect with an electrode holder by a releasable connection, wherein the protrusion is configured such that at least one coolant passage forms between the protrusion and the electrode holder when the electrode is connected with the electrode holder. In some embodiments, the releasable connection comprises a threaded connection, wherein the protrusion is threaded to releasably connect to a threaded coolant tube of the electrode holder. In other embodiments, at least one coolant passage is defined by the threaded connection.

An electrode wire feeder, including a housing defining a sealed compartment for containing a suitable lubricant, respective pairs of feed rolls rotatably mounted exteriorly of said housing, on rotatable shafts, one of the shafts of each pair of feed rolls being mounted in eccentric mounting member rotatably mounted in one wall of the housing for moving one of the feed rolls of each pair between operative and inoperative positions, pinion gears mounted on the inner ends of the feed roll shafts inside the lubricant compartment with the pinion gears of the movable shafts moving into and out of meshing relation with the other pinion gears, a motor driven gear in the compartment and meshing with the pinion gears for driving the feed rolls, and manually operable levers for rotating the eccentric mounting members to move the feed rolls between operative and inoperative positions.

Apparatus packaging enclosure

An apparatus packaging enclosure includes end members (preferably injection molded plastic) of desired configuration to define a cross-sectional shape including a desired height and width to the packaging enclosure. Spaced-apart elongate fastener members (preferably extruded aluminum) extend longitudinally between the end members to define therewith a desired length to the packaging enclosure. Devices secure opposite ends of the fastening members to the inside surfaces of respective end members at generally outer peripheral areas of the end members. Elongate panels (preferably pultruded plastic) extend between the end members and around the outside of the fastener members to define outside surfaces of the packaging enclosure. Devices secure longitudinal edges of the panels to the fastener members. The panels are positioned within the edges an abutting relationship with inside surfaces of the end members. The panels are slightly longer in the longitudinal dimension than the fastener members, so that when the apparatus packaging enclosure is assembled and the fastener members are secured to the end members, the panels will be in compression and the fastener members will be in tension enhancing desired structural characteristics of the packaging enclosure.

A power source apparatus for supplying electrical power for an arc welder includes a frame having a base member and first and second pairs of support members each defining an inverted V-shaped configuration mounted to the opposite side edges of the base member. An inverted channel cross member extends transversely between the upper ends of the support members. The support members each define a U-shaped channel having a pair of sidewalls and a connecting wall therebetween and are oriented such that the connecting walls face away from each other. An associated assembly method includes the steps of adjoining the ends of first and second pairs of support members and connecting them with a cross member to define a frame subassembly. At least a portion of the power circuit of the arc welder power source is then mounted on the frame subassembly before it is attached to the power source frame. A busbar assembly for supporting two rows of capacitors in parallel on the frame of an arc welder is also provided. A fan assembly for generating an airstream through the power source is also provided and includes a frame mounted to the power source defining at least two opposed recessed portions.

A pellet collating system includes a tray positioning station located adjacent a pellet collating line with a tray transfer robot located therebetween. The tray positioning station has mobile carts lodged thereat, some supporting pellet supply trays and others supporting pellet storage trays. Pellets on one supply tray and later placed on one storage tray are of the same enrichment. Pellet enrichments on some trays are different from on others. The collating line includes pellet input, work and output stations arranged in tandem. The robot is operable to transfer supply and storage trays one at a time to and from the positioning station and the respective input and output stations. An input sweep head is operable for sweeping pellets onto the work station from a supply tray on the input station. A gripping and measuring head is operable for measuring a desired length of pellets on the work station and then separating the measured desired length of pellets from the remaining pellets, if any. An output sweep head is operable for sweeping the measured lengths of pellets from the work station onto a storage tray at the output station. The output sweep head is also operable for sweeping the remaining pellets, if any, from the work station back onto the one supply tray disposed at the input station.

A saw apparatus for removing the wedges maintaining the winding coils in the slots of a generator, such as a hydroelectric generator, clamps to the grooves of the slot next to the slot containing the wedges to be removed. The apparatus includes a circular power saw for sawing the wedges in half, reducing the time required for the rewinding operation.

A coil removal apparatus for a dynamoelectric generator. This apparatus directs a radial pulling force on the legs of a coil to be removed from stator core slots during rewinding operations. The apparatus includes a frame including a frame member of predetermined length. A pair of gripper members are provided with grippers jaws to grasp each leg of a coil to be removed. The gripper members are connected to the frame member. The frame member is connected to a pulling mechanism that applies a horizontal force to the frame member to pull the coil out of the slots without binding in the slots.

Coil removal apparatus for a dynamoelectric generator

A conductor bundle edge-bending tool is disclosed. The apparatus is designed to bend a conductor bundle of a coil of a dynamoelectric generator along its edge. The apparatus is easy to use and prevents lateral deformation of the conductor bundle and provides a large mechanical advantage.

A winding temporary positioning apparatus for a dynamoelectric generator. The apparatus is particularly useful during rewinding of a generator of the type that has wedges maintained in grooves in the stator core slots holding the windings in position. The apparatus of the present invention includes adjustable arms shaped at the bottom end of the arms to engage the grooves thereby temporarily holding the windings in place until permanent wedges are installed.
