The tire run-flat ring removal and installation machine includes three basic embodiments, each having a tire support table () and actuators for removing and/or reinstalling the run-flat ring (R) in the tire (T). The actuators may be hydraulically, pneumatically, or electromechanically powered, and save the technician considerable time and effort in the process.

The present invention discloses a novel polyurethane composition useful as a dispersing binder. The binder yields magnetic dispersions having high gloss values. Moreover, the polyurethane provides excellent hydrolytic stability. The polyurethane comprises a polyol, a diisocyanate a chain extender and an functional modifier formed of a reaction product of an aminodiol and Bronsted Acid.

Soft linear thermoplastic polyurethanes, which have low permanent set, high tear propagation resistance, and low blocking, and which are extrudable by blown film techniques, are prepared by reacting one mole of a hydroxyl terminated polyester having a molecular weight from about 1800 to about 3600, from about 0.5 to about 2.0 moles of an aromatic glycol chain extender, and an organic diioscyanate in molar quantities substantially equal to the sum of the molar quantities of polyester and chain extender. The polyester is a mixed polyester prepared by reacting at least two different aliphatic glycols with one or more organic dicarboxylic acids or at least one alaphatic glycol with two or more organic dicarboxylic acids. The aliphatic glycol may have from 2 to about 10 carbon atoms. The organic dicarboxylic acid may be either aliphatic or aromatic and may have from 2 to about 12 carbon atoms. The preferred chain extender is hydroquinone bis(beta-hydroxyethyl)ether. Polymers of this invention are useful as elastic tapes, and in particular as leg bands in diapers and adult incontinence garments. They may be used for other items of form-fitting apparel, such as ladies swim suits.

Soft thermoplastic polyurethane for blown film application

This invention relates to flame retarding compositions comprising flame retardants selected from pentate salts and nitrogen-containing phosphates wherein one or both are encapsulated in a material to reduce contacts between the flame retardants during processing and to thus reduce or eliminate pre-reaction between the two flame retardants, which pre-reaction, normally leads to degradation of flameproofing properties of the compositions. The invention is also directed to flame retardant polyurethane compositions containing a polyurethane resin and both of the flame retardants. As between the flame retardants, amount of the phosphate is about 10-99% whereas amount of the pentate salt is about 90-1%, on weight basis. In the polyurethane compositions, combined weight of the two flame retardants is about 10-60%, based on the weight of the polyurethane resin and the two flame retardants.

Flame retardant polyurethane compositions

This invention relates to flame retarding compositions comprising a pentate salt selected from melammonium pentate and the pentate salt of ammelide, and a nitrogen-containing phosphate selected from amine phosphates, ammonium phosphates, and ammonium polyphosphates in amount of 25 to 95 volume % phosphate to 75 to 5 volume % pentate salt which produce unexpected results in thermoplastic polyurethane compositions in terms of oxygen index, and UL-94 rating. This invention also pertains to polyurethane compositions containing a thermoplastic polyurethane resin and a flame retarding combination of a pentate salt and a phosphate, defined above, in amount of 10 to 35 volume % of the two flame retarding components based on the total volume of the resin plus the two flame retarding componets. An aryl phosphate can also be included to enhance the flame retarding properties of thermoplastic polyurethanes. Such polyurethane compositions are intumescent, drip retardant, and are halogen-free.
