Hot Melt Adhesives

Multi-layer films are used to package hot melt adhesives. The packaging film does not require removal prior to use of the adhesive. Multi-layer films wherein at least one layer has a melting point below about 100&#xb0; C. is used to package low application temperature hot melt adhesives.

A hot melt adhesive based on ethylene-2-ethylhexyl acrylate copolymer finds use in packaging applications where high heat resistance, as well as good cold tolerance, is required.

A hot melt adhesive comprising an adhesive polymer and a modified rosin-terpene, preferably a phenol modified rosin terpene. The adhesive is particularly useful in packaging applications.

A low application temperature, high heat resistant hot melt adhesive comprising an ethylene n-butyl acrylate copolymer having a melt index (MI) of 750 grams/10 minutes or higher and an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymer having a MI of 750 grams/10 minutes or higher are particularly well suited for case and carton sealing operations.

A low application temperature, high heat resistant hot melt adhesive comprising an adhesive polymer and a modified rosin and/or modified terpene which has a molecular weight to softening point ratio of less that about 10. An adhesive tape is disclosed. The adhesive tape comprises a high surface energy polyolefin film in combination with a water-dispersed adhesive. The polyolefin is prepared by blending from about 99.5% to about 90.0% by weight of a polymeric material with from about 0.5% to about 10.0% by weight of an amphiphile having the formula:
