Accessory solution tank for vacuum cleaner

A power cord storage device for electrically powered apparatus, such as a vacuum cleaner having a control handle, includes a first pin, an arm rotatably supported on the handle and including a hub portion defining an L-shaped slot within which the pin extends, another arm secured to another leg of the handle and being rotatable to a first position so that the pin may be positioned in one leg of the slot and the power cord may be wrapped around the arms. The hub may be shifted to place the pin in the other leg of the slot to release the power cord.

A vacuum cleaning apparatus is disclosed in which a wheeled carriage supports a plurality of different size collection tanks on a pivot support rod extending between upward extending portions of a handle frame mounted on the carriage base. The rear of each of the tanks includes a transverse groove dimensioned to slip onto the pivot support rod. The tanks may be pivoted about the support rod to dump the contents contained therein. A carriage anti-tilt support, pivotally mounted on the carriage, prevents tipping of the carriage during tank dumping.

Vacuum cleaner carriage and tank assembly

A wet/dry vacuum apparatus is disclosed including a collection tank and a suction head. The suction head includes a base defining a tank inlet aperture, a blower intake aperture, a blower exhaust aperture, an atmospheric, intake-discharge aperture and an integrally molded valve housing. A blower is secured to the base in line with the intake aperture and includes an exhaust outlet connected to the exhaust aperture. The valve housing is opposite the blower and defines a tank opening communicating with the collection tank. A planar valve element is rotatably mounted within the housing and selectively permits communication of the blower intake with the tank for collection of debris and liquid or connection of the blower exhaust outlet with the tank to pressurize the tank and force the contents thereof out through the tank inlet.

Vacuum cleaner including diverter valve

A floor scrubber solution valve for dividing and metering a supply of cleaning solution to a pair of scrubbing brushes includes a generally cylindrical housing having an inlet port formed in one end and a pair of circumferentially spaced outlet ports formed in the wall of the housing. A generally circular valve or gate element is rotatably disposed in the housing. The valve element includes an inlet bore alignable with the housing inlet port upon rotation of the valve element. A transversely extending flow divider passage intersects the valve inlet bore and defines at each end valve element outlet ports. Diametrically opposed, narrow grooves formed in the valve element communicate with the flow divider passage and initiate flow from the inlet bore to the housing outlet ports as the inlet bore is aligned with the inlet port and maintain the flow to each of the outlet ports substantially equal.

Floor scrubber solution valve

The specification discloses a surface cleaning apparatus having a molded plastic housing and an upwardly and rearwardly projecting casing terminating at a handle, the lower portion of the housing including a forward suction nozzle, opening into a recovery chamber. Suction is generated by a blower at the rear of the recovery chamber and a shield positioned in front of the blower prevents liquid from being drawn from the recovery chamber into the blower. A pump removes liquid in the recovery chamber through a hose which empties into a remote drain. A parallel pump tubing causes recycle of liquid through the pump whenever liquid in the recovery chamber is depleted to prevent dry running of the pump. A set of spray nozzles located in the apparatus just behind the suction nozzle is connected through a hose to a faucet which acts as a remote source of clean water. The clean water supply tubing connects to the nozzles through a positive flow additive injector. The clean water supply tubing is also directly connected to the recovery tank through a bypass tubing so as to further aid in preventing dry operation of the pump and to cause additive flow even when source water pressure is low. The blower is shrouded so that air is evacuated downwardly from the blower into the surface being cleaned. A conveniently located handle switch is wired such that whenever clean water and additive are being sprayed onto the floor, the pump also operates. A separate switch enables one to run the pump only in the event the recovery tank gets too full.
