Telecommunications chassis and associated modules for use with the telecommunications chassis are disclosed. Embodiments of the telecommunications chassis include structures such as horizontal channels and/or horizontal surfaces with ridges and/or slots in one surface and slots in ridges of another for receiving edges of modules that mount within the chassis. Other structures of embodiments include divider slots in the horizontal surfaces that receive edges of divider walls to fix the divider walls in place, heat baffle surfaces included within the chassis, and/or cable guides with radius limiters. Module embodiments include structures such as faceplates with angled portions with fiber optic cable connections directed toward the fiber cable's direction of travel. Other module structures include shells that enclose the circuit board and/or provide angled portions with fiber optic cable connections. Module embodiments may also include circuitry for converting electrical signals to optical and optical signals to electrical, and the circuitry may selectively operate at multiple data rates.

Telecommunications chassis and module

Embodiments of a communication panel are disclosed that include structures that facilitate maintaining and assembling the communication panel, protect the keypad buttons, and/or protect the integrated circuits of the communication panel. Embodiments include structures such as perpendicular circuit board configurations, multi-sided removable cover surfaces, and multi-layered front panels with keypad holes. Elastomeric keypads may be included and buttons of the keypad protrude through holes in the multi-layered front panels.

Communication panel

A testing device provides pin height, continuity, and concentricity testing for coaxial connectors and cables. The testing device provides connector jacks with support shafts that properly align and stabilize the connectors during testing. Circuitry is provided to indicate if the pin height is sufficient, if the cable is an open circuit, a short circuit, or has an adequate continuity, and if the center pin of the connector is sufficiently concentric with the outer sleeve. The jacks may have an outer surface with slots providing a slip fit configuration that allows the coaxial connector to be easily inserted and removed.
