A driver assembly for solid state lighting that includes at least one LED which includes a base element having an upper surface, a lower surface, an outer peripheral edge extending about a periphery thereof and a perimeter region defined adjacent to the outer peripheral edge. A plurality of operative components are secured to the base element and are collectively operative at least 40 watts in order control current flow to the LED. The plurality of operative components include primary heat generating components and heat sensitive components, with the primary heat generating components disposed on the perimeter region of the base element and the heat sensitive component disposed in spaced relation from the peripheral region at which the primary heat generating components are disposed. The primary heat generating components are disposed in a vertical orientation wherein a vertical surface that extends away from the base element has a greater surface area than a horizontal surface that confronts the base element. Further provided is a heat sink which has a pair of vertical elements formed of a thermally conductive material, the vertical elements extending upward along part of the outer peripheral edge of the base element in confronting, heat receiving relation to the vertical surfaces of the primary heat generating components.

Driver assembly for solid state lighting

A system for dimming a solid state illumination source, such as a light emitting diode, including a low pass analog filter operative to extract a direct current (DC) voltage component from an incoming alternating current (AC) waveform. A microprocessor is structured to digitally filter the DC voltage resulting from the analog filter and extract dimming data associated with a dimming operation of the LED. The microprocessor includes monitoring capabilities operative to detect predetermined characteristics of the dimming data associated with the dimming operation. The predetermined characteristics are determinative of manual control of the dimming operation or non-manual activation of a dimming signal. The predetermined characteristics which are determinative of manual control may include, but not be limited to, speed of voltage change, direction of voltage change and amount of voltage change associated with the dimming signal delivered to the LED.

Dimming control system for solid state illumination source

A capacitance based reactive power balancing current limited power supply (RPBCLPS) for driving floating DC loads utilizes capacitive reactance to limit current being supplied to a load, rather than inductance. A capacitor transfers charge from an AC current input to a DC load. A fuse electrically protects the capacitor from high frequency current harmonics. A diode clamp electrically protects the capacitor from voltage spikes. A rectifier converts the AC current input into DC current for driving the DC load. The reactive power balancing current limited power supply can be incorporated as a key component into reactive power balancing electrical power distribution systems. Such systems can comprise a grid configuration structured to distribute the AC electrical power from a utility source to a plurality of DC loads. Further, the DC loads can be cooperatively located to provide functional distributed capacitance throughout a substantial portion of the grid.

Reactive power balancing current limited power supply for driving floating DC loads

A light fixture assembly including an illumination assembly in the form of one or more light emitting diodes is interconnected to an electrical energy source by control circuitry. A mounting assembly supports the illumination assembly and a cover structure is disposed in heat transferring relation to the illumination assembly, wherein the cover structure and/or mounting assembly have enlarged surface areas formed of a heat conductive material, facilitating heat dissipation generated by the illumination assembly into the surrounding environment. At least one connector, formed of an electrically conductive material, is disposed in interconnecting, current conducting relation between a source of electrical energy and the illumination assembly. The mounting assembly is disposed in electrically segregated relation to the connector(s), wherein said interconnecting relation of said one connector at least partially defines an assembled orientation of the illumination assembly and mounting assembly.

A control system and method for automatically and seamlessly providing optimal power and/or voltage levels to an integrated, connected or other designated light assembly. In particular, the control system comprises corresponding boost, buck and feedback circuitry cooperatively utilized to intelligently increase, decrease or maintain the signal or power delivered to the light assembly at an optimal level, thereby increasing efficiency and productivity of the light assembly and allowing the light assembly to operate even in the event of a severely degraded signal due to resistance or impedance resulting from a lengthy power wire or other factors.

A light fixture assembly including an illumination assembly in the form of one or more light emitting diodes is interconnected to an electrical energy source by control circuitry. A mounting assembly supports the illumination assembly and a cover structure is disposed in heat transferring relation to the illumination assembly, wherein the cover structure and/or mounting assembly have enlarged surface areas formed of a heat conductive material, facilitating heat dissipation generated by the illumination assembly into the surrounding environment. The conductor assembly, comprising at least one electrically conductive material connector, mechanically interconnects components, including the illumination source and the mounting assembly, into an assembled orientation. A non-conductive insulation assembly or a predetermined air space isolates the at least one conductive connector from the mounting assembly to avoid electrical contact there between.

A light fixture assembly including an illumination assembly in the form of one or more light emitting diodes is interconnected to an electrical energy source by control circuitry. A mounting assembly supports the illumination assembly and a cover structure is disposed in heat transferring relation to the illumination assembly, wherein the cover structure, which has an enlarged surface area formed of a heat conductive material, defines a decorative exterior of the light fixture and is disposed exterior of a mounting surface, thereby effectively dissipating the heat generated by the LED illumination assembly towards the environment being illuminated by the light fixture.

Light fixture assembly having improved heat dissipation capabilities

A light fixture assembly including an illumination assembly in the form of one or more light emitting diodes is interconnected to an electrical energy source by control circuitry. A mounting assembly supports the illumination assembly and a cover structure is disposed in heat transferring relation to the mounting assembly, wherein both the mounting assembly and the cover structure are formed of conductive material, thereby effectively dissipating the heat generated by the LED illumination assembly. The illumination assembly is connected to a source and electric energy by a conductor assembly comprising one or more conductive material connectors mechanically interconnecting components of the light fixture into an assembled orientation. A non-conductive insulation assembly isolates each of the one or more conductive connectors from the mounting assembly to avoid electrical contact there between.

A system and method for variably programming a plurality of utilitarian devices such as, but not limited to, LED light assemblies, motions detectors, etc. which may be associated with each of a plurality of control points. The control points are electrically interconnected to one another and to a power source to define a network, wherein an identifying code is assigned to each of the control points. One or more control facilities in the form of touch pads are cooperatively structured with a master control for programmed operations of separate predetermined numbers or arrays of said plurality of control points and the one or more utilitarian devices associated with each control point.
