An exhaust after-treatment system having a main tank configured to retain and supply a reductant is disclosed. The exhaust after-treatment system includes a main heat source disposed in the main tank and configured to thaw the reductant. The exhaust after-treatment system also includes a secondary tank configured to retain a supply of reductant and a pump configured to pass reductant from the secondary tank to the main tank. The exhaust after-treatment system further includes a secondary heat source configured to thaw the reductant within the secondary tank.

An exhaust manifold seal arrangement to eliminate oil slobber comprises a counter bore in cylinder head exhaust ducts, a spiral wound gasket with chevron shaped ends and a barrel shaped portion disposed between the chevron shaped ends being disposed in the counter bore to form a leak proof seal between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold and a thermal liner between the exhaust gases and the counter bore, the exhaust manifold being made in three parts with a spiral wound gasket being disposed between the parts to form a leak proof seal between the parts.

A pulley suitable for use in a V-type belt drive power train, the pulley including an integral securing mechanism in the central bore thereof for engaging a corresponding securing mechanism on the shaft of the device to be driven by the pulley, the integral securing mechanism preferably being corresponding screw threads, with a method of manufacturing the pulley from cylindrical bar stock as a unit including the generation of the V-belt grooves, the central bore, forming the integral securing mechanism in the central bore, and cutting off the pulley to provide a one-piece pulley of substantially simplified design.

An apparatus for controlling the torque on a power train of a machine is disclosed. The power train includes an engine, a transmission, and a torque converter for transmitting torque between the engine and transmission. A torque converter speed sensor produces a torque converter speed signal and an engine speed sensor produces an engine speed signal. A gear selector device produces a gear select signal indicating a desired gear ratio. A look-up table stores an upper engine power curve and a lower engine power curve. Finally, an electronic controller receives the torque converter, engine speed and gear select signals, and selects one of the upper and lower engine power curves to operate the engine in response to the selected gear ratio and torque converter speed.
