A connecting rod for a hermetic compressor is provided. The connecting rod includes a piston connecting portion, a body having an end connected to the piston connecting portion, a crankshaft connecting portion connected to a different end of the body and extending a predetermined length so that a curved surface is formed, an inner peripheral surface of the crankshaft connecting portion making surface contact with an outer peripheral surface of a sleeve fitted to an off-center pin of a crankshaft, and a clamp fastened to both ends of the crankshaft connecting portion and exerting elastic force to retain the sleeve on the inner peripheral surface of the crankshaft connecting portion. The sleeve does not deform, even when retained on the crankshaft connecting portion, and makes uniform surface contact with the off-center pin, which is inserted into the sleeve. This substantially reduces the abrasion of the sleeve and the off-center pin and improves the compressor's efficiency.

Connecting rod for hermetic compressor

A dual capacity compressor, which can maintain a fixed eccentricity and stable operation, even when the compressor is rotated in both the regular and reverse directions in order to provide multiple compression capacities, is provided. This dual capacity compressor implements an improved key member and associated key member fitting parts to inhibit relative motion of the crank pin and the eccentric sleeve during operation, so as to reduce or eliminate a destabilizing effect due to centrifugal forces on the eccentric sleeve and external forces applied through the connecting rod.

A crankshaft in a dual capacity compressor is disclosed, which causes oil contained in a lower portion of the compressor to flow up to an upper portion thereof with respect to all the rotational directions of a motor. A crank shaft () includes a driving shaft () inserted into a reversible motor () for rotating along with the motor (), a balance weight () formed in a top portion of the driving shaft () for preventing vibration during rotation from occurring, a crank pin () formed on an upper surface of the balance weight () to be eccentric from the center of the driving shaft (), and a regular/reverse oil path () formed along the balance weight () and the crank pin () for moving oil for forward rotation and reverse rotation of the motor respectively. The crankshaft serves to stably lubricate each driving part of the dual capacity compressor regardless of rotation direction.
